Here’s How To sell Amazon Products with Pinterest – You Can Make Money on Pinterest with Amazon FBA
Can you imagine getting in a car, starting it and driving safely to a destination you aren’t sure about without a single driving lesson?
Me neither.
Yet, back in 2015, I learned how to write and self-publish a book without a proper roadmap. Of course, in the beginning, I saw only my dwindling bank account for all my “efforts”.
Then I reverse engineered my process, invested in how to sell on Amazon, and Pinterest marketing came into sharp focus for me at the same time.
Today I share the simple and effective steps you can take to sell Amazon products with Pinterest as your traffic driver.
By the way, the system and process of selling eCommerce products with Pinterest work for Etsy, WooCommerce, and Shopify sellers too.
Why Pinterest, why not LinkedIn, or Instagram or even Facebook?
In my humble opinion, it’s simple; Pinterest is not greedy for your time. You don’t have to work so hard or spend a fortune on ads to reach your audience.
I promise you that at the time of publishing, Pinterest provides a greater ROI for your time spend than all social media platforms put together.

With your amazon or affiliate products, Pinterest can and will drive more traffic to your offers and help you hit your sales goals If you give it time and the right effort.

Summary – Make money on Pinterest with Amazon:
Essentials:
- In order to attract Pinterest traffic and make sales that way, you need a business Pinterest account if you are selling anything. It makes business sense.
- You need your amazon FBA seller account or Amazon Associate Account
- Connect your Pinterest account to your Amazon FBA or Associates list. Here is how:
- Login to your Amazon sellers account or Associates central, Click on Account Settings. Click on Edit your website, then Mobile App List, click “Add”
- Amazon Links are super long and hard to remember, you can use short URLs, only use Amazon SiteStripe
Understand that you don’t need to create content like blogging. Yet, if you can create some educative content in the general area of the products you sell on amazon, It will help potential buyers.
They will consider you a resource, plus, search engines love fresh content, thus your content will eventually rank high.
That can lead to more targeted traffic to your content and linked Amazon offers.
When people find what they need via Pinterest, they “Save/repin” it to their Boards. I call them digital filing cabinets. They also will buy and you get more sales.
Create your Commercial Keywords Populated Boards for your Amazon Product pins. At least 5-10 of them and Pin only your content on these boards.
Amazon is a trusted brand. So, people will not be worried about purchasing once they have made the buying decision. Especially if your competitors have untrusted websites.
This can lead to more targeted traffic to your content and linked Amazon offers.
Sell Amazon Products with Pinterest – Keywords Driven.
Meaning, you need to do your keyword research like a pro.
Let’s try the keywords “sports shoes” as an example. If you type this keyword into Google, you’ll get results from power brands and advertisers like Nike, Allbirds, Golddiggers, Sketchers, Adidas, etc.
If you created a Pinterest board based on “sports shoes” you might struggle to attract any focused traffic, you cannot outrank those brands.
However, not all potential shoppers of sports shoes search using those exact words.
Thus, to find more keywords that people use, and you can use to rank, you need a tool like the Google Keyword Planner. See the example search below.
As you can see, shoppers use so many other words to find that they need and if you use the keyword tool, so will you also find broader keywords for your pin Titles and Descriptions.
One may search for “sports shoes” and the top results point to specific brands they are not interested in. e.g. golf shoes, football boots, tennis shoes, etc.
So, here is the hack: If you create a Pinterest board based on those keywords, it’s likely to rank in search. Why?
Because buyers want a variety of products to choose from based on the keyword/s they use. So, you win some too.
In fact, do a Pinterest search to confirm the keywords too as below:
Now, go test out those keywords first. Check out existing boards with the same keywords.
If they are well categorised and set up, don’t bother competing, they have the race ahead of you. Try different keywords.
If they are untidy with irrelevant content, go ahead, and create a Board with an optimized description and relevant pin images/content.
You can easily outrank the competition then and attract targeted customers.

How to Add Amazon Products to Pin Board
First, you have to create the Board okay. And I created a post just for that for you here.
Also, if USA based, ensure you state that you are using an affiliate link. In fact, Amazon Insists you add the below statement:
“As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.”
Now, I highly recommend that you test out the content you link to. You could:
- Link straight to your amazon product from Pinterest and
- Or to a product guide you made on your website.
- Also, you could link to a customer review of your product.
All the above 3 links can be created directly via your Amazon account.
Once you get there Click “add tracking ID” as above. Name it a unique name just for Pinterest. Purely for tracking purposes. So don’t use that link anywhere else.
Create Pin images and pin them to relevant boards.
Track the Pins Impressions and click-throughs for about 30 days. See which link is attracting the most impressions, click-throughs, results, and Increase more similar pin images to that link.
Amazon doesn’t recommend Pinning products directly from there, Why?
- Because you aren’t allowed to use Amazon Images either
- You need a Long image ratio 2:3, at least 735 x 1200 pixels.
- And you cannot change the Amazon file name. Meaning, you will have duplicate descriptions. So, create new pin images.
You could try the Hi-Res Image Downloader for Merch By Amazon chrome extension.
Or get royalty-free images from Unsplash. ALWAYS use High definition resolution images for your amazon or affiliate product pins.
Use images that expose your product in use, because your customers will relate to them better if they see it in use. This will lead to more sales for you.
Let’s Talk Automation and Scaling
At this point, it is essential to state that you can automate your scheduling and pinning your content.
I cannot recommend the Tailwind scheduling tool enough. Open your Free Account here.
Tailwind is great for finding your optimum pinning times. Those optimum times are based on the busiest times your audience is active on Pinterest, thus more views, engagement, Repins, and click-throughs. I recommend pinning 10-30 images per day.
With Tailwind you get to choose which boards your images and content get pinned to. You can shuffle your content to avoid repetition and potentially spamming your followers.
Tailwind also offers lots of easy to follow tutorials. So, you will find it a great addition to your marketing arsenal.
In my humble view, these features are worth the $9.99 – $19.99/month price point for tailwind.
What you must ask yourself is: what’s my time worth?
Then go automate your efforts with Tailwind here.
Back in the day, I used to recommend joining group boards. Today I say avoid them.
Instead, join niche and relevant Tailwind Tribes, and be a giver and your content will get repined even wider. More eyeballs, more click-throughs.
And now you must be asking, how much money can you make with your amazon products via Pinterest?
You can make money with your amazon products via Pinterest.
What can you earn with Pinterest and Amazon FBA?
How long is the rabbit hole, is my answer.
On a serious note, your results completely depend on your efforts.
- Product popularity.
- How well you optimized your listing on Amazon and your Pin description on Pinterest.
- Your Keyword research for continued pinning.
- Availability of your products on Amazon – so your supplier must be really on point.
- And with consistent tweaking, testing, and tracking, you will start to see sales from $100+/month to multiple 6 figures.

Got a Question? Connect with Us on Facebook
Hi, I was wondering if you can use amazon product images on the pins you make? I also wonder how you get 10-30 images/day. Surely you don’t create 30 images every day? I’m so confused. I have my pinterest setup with boards and descriptions and everything but I only have a few blog articles so far so even if I make 3 different pins per article and save them with a week between it’s only going to be a max of 9 per week instead of the 70 – 210 (10-30*7). I’m so confused
Hello Thomas,
Good question. Actually following the summer Algorithm change by Pinterest and if you read our recent blog posts, we recommend only up to 3 pins per Article you put out, and if you sell amazon products you need to create may be 2 images per day and get your content creation hand writing more posts linking to your amazon page. The days of scheduling 10-40 pins per day from one brand are long gone. Now Pinterest wants quality over quantity. So you are safe with just 2-3 pins per day from your personal brand and 5 pins maybe from complimentary Brands or pinners.

Can we use Pinterest’s pin to link to Amazon affiliate link directly or must direct to a blog post or landing page first before it directs to Amazon eventually? Because my previous Pinterest account two years ago was suspended due to linking too many Clickbank products directly.
Hello terence,
With Amazon, you can create product pins linking directly to your product inventory. IF You are list building, you can send people, to a value article that has links to your landing page where you offer some kind of bonus that would incentivize your audience to giving you their details. Then they are redirected to your amazon page. This is the more acceptable way if you have lots of products or even if you have one product and so linking to the same link daily would lead to a Pinterest ban/block.
Great insights Julie. I know people are doing amazing things with Pinterest. I haven’t yet figured out how to get my Pinterest momentum going. So I appreciate these tips!
