This is How you Start new Profitable Business Relationships from Zero! Our Story.
You do know that working on and building stronger Profitable Business Relationships can help your business so much more than you might realize?
It is Monday morning and we hope you are GDPR compliant…we dont want all those relationships going to waste because of this. So are you complaint?
Cool, then back to biz….
Well in this episode we are going to share with you our experience thus far and hope this will help your entrepreneurial career or life journey!
It’s possible that the reason we did and most new entrepreneurs so often neglect this is because there is no immediate pay off…Why do we say that?
The answer is Simple; Impatience and short sightedness are two of the most powerful business killers.
When we started out, like you, we didn’t have any business experience and we tried to do everything on our own. We were driving blind. Can you imagine that? Dangerous and fool hardy…
Yet many new entrepreneurs and coaches do this all over the world, for months even years on end DIYing it…
You aren’t going to have any way to get feedback except for seeing if your efforts get you any results. So, you need to really think about building your business connections and relationships more as a powerful investment, as opposed to a Time spend!
Let’s go deeper shall we….
Making Your Business Relationships More Profitable
We were told, and are sure you too, far too often, that it is the smaller things that will have the biggest impact on and consequences for us.
Then you agree that business cannot grow in a vacuum, a truth that is applicable both on and off the internet. People make businesses thrive…Your relationships with people will affect your bank!
People make businesses thrive. Your relationships with people affect your bank!If you do keep up with the news, you’ll notice a few of the biggest corporations do well because they’ve built really strong business relationships on every single level.
Building relationships from which you can profit is just as important for individual internet-based entrepreneurs including Bloggers!
Of course, when you’re just getting started you probably don’t have a lot of important contacts. Don’t let this hold you back though. After all, there are quite a few ways that you can go about forming relationships that are mutually profitable…Lets Look at them!
It is the smaller things that will have the biggest impact on and consequences for us.
#1. Don’t Kiss and Run:
All too often, all attempts at building business relationships end when the first sale is made.
I know we were like that, I am afraid! In this instance you are either good at creating great copy that conveys all kinds of warmth and sincerity. Or you have the tongue of the Irish, but this quickly ends once you have your money…Others will notice this of you.
And, it does not take a brain-inbox to realize that you should continue offering great value, if you are to turn these buyers into loyal brand ambassadors. So, how do you do this? By going through the steps we shared in our Customer Retention episode here.
Keep on giving ever more great content, and even do more for those who have given you their money.
We have learnt and suggest that you adopt the attitude that your customers are special, thus worth nurturing your relationship with. Don’t be like the New Orchid Garden.
The main thing to keep in mind is; that your customers deserve to be treated well simply because they’ve bought something from you. More so if they are return customers.
#2. Automation Baby…
Okay in English, lets Automate or Systematize your Communication already!
We know we used to wonder how the heck do people send thousands of emails via google or yahoo or horse mail? ?
Fortunately, we learnt that there’s a way you can make good use of your email to build a list that not many bloggers and marketers take advantage of.
Even if you have 10 or 10,000 subscribers, you can make a difference in their lives. But first you have to build that list. Then you send them an email where you offer to answer their questions or advise them on some topic relevant to your niche.
Don’t worry -this doesn’t mean devoting all your time to coaching the people on your list, as that would be very time consuming, to say the least.
We have virtual assistants and use a CRM, called Aweber you can too, if your budget allows it.
And to build professional web pages that walk the talk we use LeadPages.
Alternatively, you could use A forum. This can be a useful platform for answering questions, as well as a great way to build relationships. And you don’t need to reinvent the wheel. Use facebook Groups; starting one is a possibility you might want to consider. Then hold a Q&A session on set dates and times. Let them know you will answer the most often asked questions and concerns. For instance I do a Free Training Q&A Friday 1:10pm UK every week on our Page, you can watch the last Q&A I held here.
Of course, the best way to build business relationships is in person, belly to belly!
#3. Best Way and Place to Build Business Relationships:
Of course, the best way to build business relationships is in person, belly to belly! Yet we live in a global digital village and so connecting with people anywhere you chose has never been easier.
And that brings us to the best places to connect, Communicate and Build that bridge…Talking of the 2-Cs, you may not have heard of our 4-C Formula to your first 10k Online. You can do so here!
We cannot fail to mention social media because we have and continue to build our brand success online! And our Focus is on 2 Platforms.
– Facebook for Instant Authority building and that personal connection.
– Pinterest for the amazing brand exposure, growth and Traffic getting. No better platform for this at time of publishing this post.
I have mastered and continue to study Pinterest. I wrote a book about it “The Art of Pinterest profits” get your copy on amazon.
I also Created a Full online course on How to build your Pinterest Assets, The Ultimate Pinterest Roadmap.
We keep an active presence on other social media sites such as Twitter and Instagram.
Now our recommendation is to Stick to 1 platform, find that person crushing it on there and follow them, learn their style, duplicate and master it. #Kerching 😉
Facebook for example, gives you ample opportunities to showcase your business expertise. There are groups on there that pertain to many different topics, as well as the ability to put together a group that interests you and publishing your content…Positioning, authority…all that good juice!
Basically, you should be looking for other business owners or people from your target audience and connect with them. It is the contact and rapport you can establish that leads to business deals, JVs and much more.
#4. Read that Book on Building Business Relationships
So, can I ask you something?
Did you know you can build a relationship with someone without having ever met them? How you may ask?
Well, have done it, we have made very good friends on facebook. One being with our coach Tanya Aliza. We built such rapport we were invited to the most intimate event one can have. Her wedding in the Caribbean no less… And we had never met in person!
We have since met at various events, made more friends in the entrepreneur circles, cemented our friendship and business relationships!
Now, let me ask you another Question….
When was the last time you read an expertly authored book or article about customer relations and business relationships? There ya go… You could find mentors. coaches or even a friend through a book.
We aren’t criticizing you, we are just highlighting what you can do to get more done.
You could serve yourself quite well by finding books authored by credible experts on the subject and learn from them. We can promise that you will have your eyes opened when you see just how broad this subject can be. Plus, you will walk away with more than a few excellent ideas you can use in your own business.
You could even read “Afro-Brit Travelpreneur confessions.” ?
Now reading aint anywhere near enough. Pull on your gloves and get to work implementing the tactics you learn and build those business relationships; make new friends and live a life you design!
Pull on your gloves and get to work implementing the tactics you learn
The Power of Building Really Strong Business Relationships – Final Words
We’ve talked about being watchful, making small overtures and doing everything you can to improve the relationship that you and your audience have with each other.
You need to keep in mind that this doesn’t need to stop with the people in your audience. We strongly recommend you use the same approach with everyone you contact. Looking beyond that, you need to take the time to learn as much as possible about relationship building from people who are experts on the subject.
The reason that you do this is because there are lots of powerful methods out there for you to discover. Even if you’re an old hat at business, you always have room to get better and be more successful.
We think this is obvious as well as very easy to do, but we still encounter many who fail to get it. Something as simple as not being courteous could even cost you a job or mega life changing profits.

I couldn’t agree more: Impatience and short sightedness are two things that mean your business is destined to fail from the start. You have to be patient, a business won’t boom over night x
Thats the thing Becca, Patience and Business are great friends! 🙂
So useful, so informative. Learned a lot from this article of yours. Saving this for future reference.

The thing about business is it’s really all about relationships and effective communication! It is SO important to keep this in mind.
Thats it Lisa Thats it indeed !
I think automation is such a great tip! It saves you time which equals money!
Hello Eileen,
I do agree automation eases the load…I on the other hand dont agree that Time = Money. Time is SO MUCH MORE it is equated to life. If Time were money, Steve Jobs would still be alive, the Celebs who recently ended their lives with bags of money…time run out for time…In my humble view Time =Life, opportunities, Loving, Laughing, a hug with a loved one, its so much more….All those free things we take for granted! 🙂
This was really helpful. And yes, I think most people are really impatient and give up after a couple of setbacks or when they don’t see quick results. Building a successful business takes time and commitment for sure.
Glad we agree Jojo and Its time more people got to know more about building business Relationships that bring success 🙂
This is great and sound advise that we could all benefit from. I don’t really pay attention to much of the emails I get but you gave me a great idea.

Words of wisdom. People buy because of two things, Trust and Value. Building good relationships is imperative to any business if they are looking to be relevant and viable.
Hello John,
Indeed people buy because they trust the value you bring and so we must bring the value as we build that trust 🙂
Building a biz relationship takes time and effort, just like any other relationship. Using your tips can definitely make it so much easier.
Hello Cindy,
Glad you agree with our Relationship building Tips 🙂
This is very informative and a great resource. I think that sometimes people forget the important of building and maintain a professional relationship.
Tell them Kelly 🙂 More relationships, more results period! 🙂
Another fantastic and informative post you have written. I like the idea of following someone who is successful in their niche.
It is the holy grail Elizabeth 🙂
Such amazing tips! I started working from home two years ago and I have to say that building strong relationship with brands has helped me grow a lot!
Thats the thing Marielle,
So many of us stay behind the computer and wonder why our model doesnt bear fruit while the newbie does!
I use automation for social media. Too much work not too. I admit though that I need to work on social more. Email and blogging is more my thing.
Hello Di,
Automation will do nothing for you unless you have the people in the mix. Systems are created by and for people 🙂
I read your post and what instantly came to my mind was my professor in graduate school. He said something that has stuck in my mind all these years. He said, “Look at the person ahead of you. Observe the way he handles the business. You will know why he is ahead. Then emulate him.” I think it is really important for us to have role models. It is an effective way of motivating us to achieve our goals. Establishing a solid business relationship with our role models is the best.
Heya,
That professor definitely knew his stuff and I hope that advice has shored you up for success. because it is spot on 🙂
I use automation otherwise it would be impossible for me to control so many branches of my business! Great tips!
Hello Amalia,
You cannot completely automate your business unless you got mucho dollar. So yo still gotta build those relationships whatever they may be!
It is wonderful to read this inspiring blogs, and to keep focused on service over other thing. It is important to keep bulding profitable business relationships.
Hello Christina,
Glad you got value 🙂
I think I’m GDPR compliant. I’ve done everything to my knowledge to make sure of this. Great post I find these really useful. I think my business relationships are good, I keep getting repeat business which must be a good sign.
Hello Melanie,
You can do some checks and of course as a UK blogger check with ICO and see if you qualify to not register 🙂 Good luck!
It’s really important to build relationships in the industry that you’re in. You can learn so much from them as well. Finding a person to follow that’s really doing amazing can help you improve!
Yes Alison,
We should cut our journey shorter. Why keep DIY when we can find a mentor and sky rocket our results?
Finding a person in your niche crushing it then following is my fav. Thanks for sharing
Yessss We must follow the success yellow brick road 🙂
I am also growing my blogging business so I want to keep on doing well with my partners, both local and international. I try to keep a professional business relationship with them, even if the businesses are just owned by my friends 😀
Hello Sigrid,
yep keep building and nurturing, watering those relationships, they will bear much fruit. 🙂
Business relationships are SO important! I know that my generation likes to use the power of social media – which is also important- but reccomendations are the bread and butter to any business!
You got that spot on Bree if that business is a Small business. As your brand grows, your promotional message bears your communication and so you must make it in alignment with your brand. That way you are still building those relationships and getting WOM referals! 🙂
What good points, I’m just starting out with the online business world and all too often we forget about the contacts we’ve made once we make a sale. Which is crazy, since it’s easier to sell to someone that already knows (and trusts) our brand than a complete stranger!
Thats the thing Stephanie 🙂 We have to love on our Potential and present customers…build that trust as we give the value! 🙂
Building strong relationships in business is so important. People don’t just buy what they need they like to work with people they can trust.
We really enjoyed reading your blog post. It gave us quite a few perspectives that we had not considered
Glad you got value 🙂
As always a great informative post! Some of these are so consuming but, if the payoff is worth it … Suck it up buttercup! One of my most accommodating sponsors was a relationship built out of a few kind words years ago. Just saying I agree with the importance of relationships.
You totally got it Gladys and I havent heard the term “Buttercup” in ages 🙂
Thanks Julie, very powerful post and it has a lot of value
Hey Chris,
What a lovely surprise. thanks for stopping by and glad you got some value 🙂
This is so full of information. Honestly, I’ve never really considered my blog as a business. But really, I have to reconsider.
Lol Wendy, is your blog a hobby then? A very time consuming and costly hobby it must be! 🙂 Yes it is a business!
Following advice from pros is hands down the way to go Julie. Which is why I study how you and Donna Merrill and other business blogging leaders conduct themselves. It is always about service and detachment from outcomes. I think of Ray Higdon too; he is always meeting new people, stressing not to get addicted to any one outcome. I just checked 25 emails in like 20 seconds. Guess I am doing A-OK LOL.
Hey Ryan,
Julie Syl and Donna Merrill in one sentence…now thats an honour. Service is Key here, every successful organisation serves more people more times! And the moment we onliners, bloggers find that holy grail, we start to shift the needle in our favour! 🙂
