So, what has got me excited about Pinterest again, you may wonder?
Well its gone and laid out a whole new lay out, added Cover Images to boot. But not any old cover image, its a WHOLE Picture collage, a frame of images that showcase your interest, expertise, skills or simply random things you post…If that’s what you do on there! 😉 More engagement for your brand or what? Excited…did I say I am excited?

Well, you can tell that I love the new layout and functionalities laid out don’t you? That’s why I keep banging on about Why Pinterest is great for your business. How about you?
And this time round they haven’t neglected the desktop users. Everything looks great whichever gadget you view your pinterest assets from.
I am sure you have noticed several new tabs just under your profile image and description, right? Well what are you waiting for, go take a looksee, I will wait…

Pinterest Style Layout 2018, The Implications
Would you agree that the new Pinterest Layout 2018 showcases your profile in a much more professional way? Almost like your Facebook Profile…Shhh dont tell the Pinterest powers that be! 😉
With this new feature you can choose which images show up in your cover frame. The options include — Latest Pins, Recent activity or Select one of your boards! As a blogger you got this awesome opportunity to Pull your Very own Blog Board as your Cover frame and drive people to your Website even more. Pure dope! 🙂

So you watched the veeery short video above on double speed, right? Then you will have noticed what I have observed:
That the new layout showcases in the several tabs listed below:
| – Overview – brief view of your account with latest pins and the boards you pinned them. – Boards – You know these 🙂 – Pins – All your Pins starting with the most recent! – Activity – The Pins people saved from your site and linked accounts, you can hide this functionality, I did! – Followers – people following you. You can follow back if you like! – Following – People you follow, you can unfollow those that dont serve your Vision or mission. – Tries – all the pins and related content you have tried. Let me talk about this a wee bit more |
The “Tried it” is really a test set by Pinterest to check your Pin Quality! So, if a lot of people save and hit the “Tried It” button on your pin image, Pinterest sees that as value, high-quality Content and pin.
And by the way, all variations of your Pin are taken into consideration as they all link to the same URL?Content.
For instance, if you save one of your pins to another board or someone else does, Pinterest tots up how many repins and “Tried It’s” that pin received too.
So do you see how your Pinterest assets can truly reflect what your brand is about? And help drive even more targeted visitors to your blog and offers. Isn’t that awesome? I say it is. How you may ask?
You will be able to CHOOSE exactly which Pin images and related content to show up in that premium piece of Pinterest real estate. Thus More Brand exposure!

a) Well, I am loving the Monthly Viewer count, I hope Pinterest keeps this one. We are currently at over 190,000 more than whats in the video above woot woot!
You only get to see your follower count when you click on the follower button. I LOVE This, and Pinterest is making a Statement I have been Shouting for months.
Pinterest IS NOT ABOUT Follower numbers It is about Search, Inspiration, Brand exposure and growth. Use it for these purposes and you wills be so happy you did. Use it for follower numbers and well that’s all you will get!
