So who is a neighbour? In my view it’s anyone in your locality.

But how do we turn neighbours into customers? Well…
Yet following our earlier post about the mistakes I made starting a Home Business, we’re about to drop a bomb shell and say you can actually share your business with neighbours…once you have mastered the art of Selling!
Now the assumption is you are reading this because you are either a home business owner or are contemplating one…Well if still in doubt or feeling like you may have made a mistake, stop right there for you need to see our 7 compelling reasons to start a home based business.
Why do we say this? Because there is plenty of business opportunities & resources right in your neighbourhood waiting for you to tap into. You can form a business relationship anytime and anywhere with live human beings! That girl on the till or local super market could be your next big hitter or refer your next big client…Sweet!
Although online networking has become instrumental in the way we cultivate and leverage connections, it will never replace the meaningful bonds we forge from face-to-face interaction. Nurture an extensive network within your own community, and then be bold enough to ask for the sale. So let’s talk about this as one of the ways to turn neighbours into customers or team members…
#1 Turn neighbours into customers by Asking for the sale.
We’ve talked about this before yet we feel it fits this discussion too. As entrepreneurs we must always remember that good relationships are critical to building and operating a successful business. It’s imperative that you are not only a good neighbour, but an active member of your local community. As you nurture your relationship with members of the community, don’t be afraid to directly ask for the sale.
Personal example: Julie is an active member and general secretary to our Local Ugandan community in Liverpool aka UCAL, over time we have not only created great personal relationships with several members, they are also part of our local team and customers. The lesson here is People are more likely to consider your services if they know, like, and trust you.

Bottom line is make friends with your neighbours, genuine friendship. And you won’t find it awkward to share your business or products with them, and asking for the sale. Neither will you be attached to the outcome; Yes or Nay both are okay!
#2 Turn neighbours into customers – Volunteer in your Community
Now, this is different from the suggestion before. How?
Volunteer for conferences and community events freely, it’s called Giving! As you freely give of your time to your community, you will learn who they are, what they do, what are their pain points. WHAT DO THEY WANT, NEED, DESIRE….Focus on the Desires…because these we justify and go for them faster than wants or needs! Once you know who they are, you will learn who is business material and who is not, who can NEEDS or DESIRES your products/services and who may be a negative energy. Listen to your gut instinct, intuition here.
And the fun bit, you will inadvertently expand your network hugely. In giving back to your community and neighbours, when you do share what you do as you will, coz they will ask…they will truly relate to your brand, a brand that has the community spirit and that is priceless for your business or team growth. Who would you rather buy from? A stranger down the road or your “neighbour” whom you attend community events with?
Personal Example: We are part of our local parish ministry and we actively participate in the activities. Recently one of the parishioners who we had in passing told about our travel club last year, decided to purchase our product as a customer. She happily shared it with a couple of her friends who decided to purchase too. It’s a ripple effect this giving malarkey. Give and give freely. It’s in giving that we receive…So true! So our tried and tested advice is, even if you may not have children, consider volunteering in your local school or community center. Trust us what you do may have nothing to do with revenue. Yet you are investing in your community and the rewards shall come guaranteed.

#3 Turn neighbours into customers Join a Local Meet-up Group. For the bricks and mortar Owner Share work space aka Co-working.
Again Meetups are a no brainer esp. in the USA. I joined several meetups and finally settled for two both of them on Mindset and Law of attraction! One of them called The Fellsters run by an amazing woman who has overcome cancer twice called Gill Fell find her website here. I have met some amazing people at these meetups. It was great to know that my thoughts were not loopy lol.
Gill has recommended some amazing business ladies, aka neighbours to myself! In addition to meeting some amazing people. See you can turn neighbours into customers! And remember its true: the size of your network, determines your net worth! Reach out and make friends with neighbours who share your passion and enthusiasm for enterprise. People in complimentary businesses so the element of “competition” doesn’t arise…although competition in our view is healthy!
Now Sharing work space or Co-working as it’s called, involves sharing workspace and collaborating with like-minded individuals. Quite ideal for a start-up or sole-proprietor who needs office space but cannot afford the whole room or floor! While we haven’t tried this yet, we know a few solopreneurs who’ve formed great business relationships and got their co-workers and neighbours to become customers of clients. Imagine way back in high school, usually your neighbour in class became your best friend…right! Well working in the same space means two things, you get close or hate each other’s guts…chose the first will ya!
#4 Turn neighbours into customers – Welcome New Neighbours and Connect with Other Parents.
As parents of two active teenagers, we can’t resist getting to know parents of other children in their various activities groups and those in the same school as our children. They can be great people too. So what I do: I introduce myself as warmly as possible, ask about their lives, children, work, business, easy chat etc. For new neighbours I simply go knock and welcome them to the neighbourhood or drop off a welcome card with my names and address of course. A warm pie or box of fruits is usually welcome too!
And I ASK FOR THEIR Business card. I then make a point to make a social call just so my number is in their radar, and maintain a level of interest in what they are about until we are socially aligned or have a mutual interest or…If we find we aren’t compatible thats okay too. See how easy it is to turn neighbours into customers? Its as easy as making contact and being your awesome self.
Leverage those personal relationships for your mutual and individual businesses…heck be the Einstein and start such a group or community in your area and see your net worth grow.
Yes you can turn neighbours into customers, clients or business partners. You just gotta be BOLD, step away from your desk sometimes, meet real people without expecting anything in return, enjoy the giving and ask the right questions at the right time!

LESSONS FROM BILLIONAIRES #3: Your Daily Personal activities. Seems wrong when you see many people blogging daily, posting on social media but clearly not progressing. The question is in your mindset AND activities. Are you focusing on your MMAs – Money Making Activities your High Value Tasks or just being busy! By the way if you missed our earlier post on Narrowing your Focus we dealt with this malaise, so read it here now!
As a solo-preneur you need to accept that you will always be enrolling, until! So focus your energies and daily activity on those strategies that produce the results you desire. We have created and use a funnel that brings in at least 8-10 new leads per day…yet we also reach out and connect with the same number on social media per day as well…and marinate that relationship till its sweet and soft! Can you do that? We aren’t done until we’ve made those connections, and continue to work through the numbers. Its a sorting and sieving numbers game which increases our odds for success.
LESSONS FROM BILLIONAIRES #4: Be Caring and Genuine. Be human. Show your softer side it’s not a weakness. Even big men do cry, right! Its thus wise to show your vulnerable side. Even the challenges you have gone or go through sometimes so others may relate to you and the lessons you propound! Heck you want to be macho type…we get it! But consider your prospects and new team members who definitely look up to you…to get the best from them. Show them your very human side, express yourself. Be dramatic sometimes, without causing drama if you get our drift! However uncomfortable it may feel to begin with, it is an awesome business strategy that Sir Richard Branson has perfected. J.K. Rowling advises that we need to be kind to those around us regardless of who they are. See you never know who may decide to join your team, and be your power hitter. And who do you wish to learn your lessons from? In our case definitely billionaires thank you very much!
LESSONS FROM BILLIONAIRES #5: Build Relationships – Make Friends. One of our mentors on social media etiquette; Jessica Higdon emphasizes that your aim online is to make as many friends as possible. Build relationships and rapport. The idea is not to sell to them but to make a friend. Later the business side will flow naturally. You are sorting and sieving. This advice from Jessica confirmed by Tanya Aliza has made a huge impact on how we connect with people on social media and how we promote our business online.
We all know what Zig Ziglar taught, in fact most of us keep regurgitating it…Do we walk the talk? That…anyone could be successful in network marketing if you help more people get what they want or become successful!
So how about we purpose to reach out and make some new friends instead of looking for “$$$ signs” on social media? We can later help them to successfully step on the business ladder. For once lets put aside our personal desires and serve our network of friends. The more friends we make and serve, the greater our success in the home business front. What awesome lessons from billionaires and mentors!
LESSONS FROM BILLIONAIRES #6: Know Your Odds! Are you willing to work smart and find others who have the same work ethos. To what degree are you willing to do this? How many No’s are you willing to take. How many cards will you flip before you either break through and find your aces…those are your odds! The thing is you will never know what those odds are until you hit your own Jackpot…! Are you willing to take that chance? The super successful billionaires do this every blessed day. Work through your numbers, keep flipping those cards and you will learn what your odds are sooner rather than later.
Its another of the prices we pay to get to our desired destination! That means that you must pay the price for freedom. Keep improving your chances through training, self development, learning and TEACHING OTHERS. And this brings us to….
LESSONS FROM BILLIONAIRES #7: Pay The Price…Hmm they’ve gone crazy! Nope Have you heard the saying:
“To whom much is given much will be required!” Luke 12:28 Scripture
Well that then follows that for every fortune a price is paid. Whatever that price is to you, you will find it out sooner or later! This is one of the lessons from billionaires that most neo-entrepreneurs still do not understand and also avoid…Leading to quitting! Very few wish to pay the right of passage from average to great! Most look for freebies and giveaways…Which are great. But what price are you paying to get to your desired destination?
Most people find the price when they meet these 4 dream stealers:
- Deception – Of the people who see your presentation many say I like it, and will get back to you. Then a big majority start to avoid your calls!
- Rejection – You invite your “hot market” 48 family & friends for a presentation and 30 of them say Nope!
- Apathy – You present to a room full of 50+ people at a product party and 33 of them say…Not interested…arrrrg AND
- Attrition – you get 5 customers or team members and 3 drop out/quit
If you are a home business entrepreneur or network/affiliate marketer and you haven’t yet met the above tax-men you are not building hard enough!

Then you will also understand one of the biggest lessons from billionaires. Which is “Work through the numbers!” The emphasis here is on the words “WORK” and “NUMBERS.” What you lack in skills make up in numbers…i.e. the number of people you show your business presentation! We have said before business is a numbers game and Pauli Kalungi will swear as a mathematician that numbers never lie. Pick your income goal and then get into beast-mode aka massive targeted action.
LESSONS FROM BILLIONAIRES #8: Delete Excuses. Billionaires and top earners in any industry have one thing in common and that’s; they make no excuses whatsoever for their results, and actions. And they don’t really tolerate excuses either. Neither do they make excuses when things don’t go right aka failures or lessons. Taking full responsibility for their lives is one of the lessons from billionaires that we gotta embrace if we are to join the 1% of this planet. Sir Richard Branson has been known to say when an opportunity you cannot resist presents itself jump in with both feet and learn on the job. AND take full responsibility for your success or lack of thereof. Lord Alan Sugar always tells his Apprentices on the TV show The Apprentice, to take personal responsibility for their results. In other words one of the lessons from billionaires we are to digest is that to be successful one has to embrace being a member of “Team No Excuses!” In the process you will attract like minded people or employ those who trust that you will guide them right and never lay blame at their door.
LESSONS FROM BILLIONAIRES #9: Take Your Personal Success as A Given And Step up.
Its very easy to listen to all the noise online and let people like your upline, downlines, team members, coach, aunt May and everyone else who has an opinion on what you do, determine your Success by what they say about you. “Your Power Echoes” did a podcast on “ why do we say this, because as Andrew Carnegie said, “The world is watching”
This is so much more clear in this internet and big brother age! Everyone is waiting to see WHAT YOU DO. So why not produce your results and make it your business to deliver. Assume the sale every time, success follows those that believe they already have it!
So its important to learn this as one of the lessons from billionaires: Instead of letting everyone affect you and determine your results and success, DO it for YOU! Know exactly what success means for you and declare it every blessed day, then go get it.

Prospecting Tips not as you know them. The Mistakes you Must Avoid – Lesson 1 – Podcast & Scope 🙂
Gee Julie I have a prospect with me now, If you get him to join, I will join you…Lol! Said Prakash, a fellow entrepreneur! WHAT, sorry but I am pretty busy at the moment! I answered? BUT I am going to give you a quick lesson. Some prospecting tips, by sharing the prospecting mistakes we’ve made, nothing held back?
Prakash is a “Passive income, I don’t want to recruit people type.” He has been playing this game for a while….The “I will buy/join when I get some of my own customers ready to buy with/from me first….A load of Hogwash if you ask us!
Why share these mistakes? Because we see so many doing the same today and it makes us pretty sad. Allow us to let you in on the multitude of prospecting mistakes we’ve made that killed many a sale and how we’ve overcame them! We wont just delve into the mistakes but also some super Prospecting Tips so you can get to your desired results faster! Closing more of your leads and make more sales!

By the way they behave and the things they say. Today Paul and I are determined to help you take your power back By obliterating these prospecting mistakes and how to posture your self better today.

#1 Create a Collaboration Group akin to BNI or Leverage Non Competing Businesses:
We recently learnt this from a network marketing colleague Stephanie Irwine thank you! Join your Local BNI or create a network of collaborating non competing entrepreneurs and exchange not just leads but Real Business contacts and sales!
We attended one of the many local BNI chapters aptly named ! It is an absolutely amazing way to generate more leads and make real sales fast! Esp if you have services outside of Internet marketing like we do. This is a prospecting tip par excellence! At any given time you have buy now collected a plethora of entrepreneurs in different sectors. Including prospects who may not be buying immediately! Whoever you’re showing your business has dozens of other services and products being sold to or shared with them. E.g you are a motivational speaker promoting to a corporate CFO, an events planner sharing with a Hospitality Manager. Lawyer, propositioning accountants. You get the picture.
Establish alliances with others selling different but complimentary services & products to the same people, you will realise major benefits. This a prospecting super tip! Why?
Because you’ll gain access to each other’s lists and networks. Creating a “circle of trust” – people who know you and love your work. If you do things right you might also create partnerships on the same sales. In the construction industry we always found that we sent work to a plumber,electrician, trades we knew. Do you see just how powerful this can be? You will soon grow your network in amazing ways! And make more repeat sales….sweet!
#2 Prospecting Tips – Mistakes we made: Take Back Your Power: You deserve to have the good things you envision…and you cant do so when you keep making the same mistakes we made.
Network marketers and most sales people habitually do and say things that immediately and unequivocally hand ALL of their power to prospects and customers, who then hold all the cards for the success or failure of the entrepreneur, without the ! Talk about power. The ability to cause someone to succeed or to fail. Think about that for a moment. It’s like playing god with someone’s livelihood!
That’s exactly what it felt like in our early days of marketing when prospects wouldn’t buy and we had no power to do anything about it. The worst part about this is the fact that network marketers and small business owners think they’re doing the right thing and that they’re SUPPOSED to take these actions that give all their power away. So many times we’ve said and have heard others use the following statements. Pure prospecting mistakes:
“I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get you custom or earn your business.”
“If you join my team or buy from me, I’ll be at your beck and call.”
“I’m all about after sales service. I’ll be available to you anytime after installation if you need help.”
“I’ll even give you my home number. I want to be available to you anytime for any reason at all.”
Why give your potential a paradox of choices? Be precise what you offer and you start off on the right foot!
You must present yourself as an equal at the very minimum, and preferably someone with more knowledge if its is valid! Then, and only then, will you receive the level of respect from customers necessary to make them fall into a frame of mind that THEY must prove themselves to YOU and EARN a place as your customer.
Please keep in mind that arrogance and brashness won’t get you far. Our aim here is not only to make you recognize that you are more than enough as a professional entrepreneur. But also emphasize to you why this frame is an absolute necessity if you are to become hugely successful in your business. Its but – a game. A game of wits and psychological positioning aka POSTURE!
#3 Prospecting Tips – Not Following up on the NOs:
Here is a prospecting mistake we used to make its amazing. Have you considered all the Nos you have been getting? The last 5-10 sales you lost, have you considered why you didn’t get them? If not, go find out and below is what could happen:
- You could redeem the sale. When you ask for feed back your prospect may have been going through a bad patch so timing was all wrong! So if you approach them asking for their help and feedback, you just might resurrect the deal and make a sale. These are the prospecting tips you keep hearing and not putting into place…Lol Its called Follow up…with a twist!
- Practice makes perfect, so you’ll definitely gain confidence & improve. This is more so if your prospect decided to buy from a competitor…as they do! Use this chance to find out why that happened This kind of feedback helps yo improve your chances of making he sale. feedback will help you get those sales! Application of knowledge is power, You will find that your next deal brings different results.
- You could get a referral. Did you even consider that when you are prospecting, you could ask the person for a contact or connection to someone who may benefit from your product or services? recently Ray Higdon did say exactly that. If you lack posture you could lose the sale. But don’t let them get away without asking if they know someone who does need what you offer! In most cases, your prospect may have been excited about the deal. So always ask this powerful, question: “Who else do you know that could use some help with….?”

#4 Prospecting Tips – Not Laying The Client Risk Out! This is specially prone to new business owners and entrepreneurs. Hyping things up and failing to Clearly share with the potential client a strategy for managing the risk. At one of the training events we attended over the summer. One of the speakers stated that people shy away from purchasing from you because of two reasons:
- they don’t think they can do it
- they don’t believe you can lead them!
Your prospects may become overwhelmed by the information you share esp. if you go into explaining comp plans! Yes many entrepreneurs focus on selling on price or Comp plan. This is pointless! People need to know whether they can promote the services as you do. So Keep It Simple Stupid…So mush so an 8th grader can understand how it works and the risks involved…! Money or start up costs shouldn’t be the major focus. That only arises when someone is not convinced of their abilities, your abilities or worse still the benefits of both! Get them to see these 3 and you got a sale without even worrying about the price…that is something people pay or find a way to do so when they see the vision!
#5 Prospecting Tips – Do you Value Your Time? This is another mistake made by new home business entrepreneurs and network marketers, that needs to be cured! The struggle with attrition is real. And most of us fail to understand that Time is a precious resource. We have to make the best use of the time we get to build our business. Have you ever made an appointment with a potential client and they either show up so late or they are a no show with no apology?
Then you can relate!
Paul & I once went to visit a potential client, who made us wait for 65 minutes! When she finally deemed it fit to show her face, she was dismissive and rude. Paul politely stood up thanked her for showing her face – and said See ya! You should have seen her face! It was priceless! Know your value, Your time is priceless. We wasted 65 minutes of our time that day. BUT we also learnt a lesson and we since then never wait for anybody beyond 15 mins! By the way this woman rang apologised profusely and Promptly made an order!
Lesson: Prospects must earn your time too!

Okay my dear here we are focusing on how to enrol new reps. By sharing The Enrolment Mindset and How to get to Breakthrough Selling. These are the MLM secrets they don’t want you to know…So pay attention and then go implement And we will wrap it all up in a bow with Part 3 so watch this space…Okay where were we again?
A lot of Home business entrepreneurs, network and affiliate marketers have some resistance, discomfort or lack of confidence when it comes to sales conversations and to enrol new reps.
But think about it, doesn’t it make sense that if you need to hard sell, convince or manipulate someone to buy, neither they nor you are going to be very excited?
Seriously we can totally relate! I personally used to get the heats, tense up and my energy dropped before a presentation. I didn’t want to be pushy. Until I realised that in order to make sales I had to enrol new reps. We both have had to learn how to ENROL. You know we said it’s a better way to grow your business in Part 1…Haven’t read it yet. Well go do so now…coz this won’t make sense otherwise!
“Enrolling” means allowing potential clients to see the opportunity to get what they want.
When you finally shift to “enrolling,” properly, there will be zero pressure, and it is actually easier for someone to choose to work with you so you will enrol a new rep and do so very often. No convincing or cajoling is required. Coz these people come to you of their own bat…having filled out your form and qualified themselves, enthusiastically to get the chance to work with you!
If you’ve been avoiding presentations and prospecting because you didn’t want to go into convincing mode, here is one big thing you’re doing wrong…aaand
You’re offering “free sessions” and no up-sell…What!!!!
You have free offers of a sample of your work, Free Health sessions, Free 25 Recipes, Free Coupons, Free this n that and no up-sell, nothing to motivate your prospects to buy anything else off you, you just missed to enrol a new rep possibly!
We know, we know, we’ve been there…You’re hoping prospects will get a taste of what you do and sign up as customers or clients! Well guess what…
In fact, the opposite happens…we have tested it ourselves and the results are astounding!
Now that your potential buyer has a bit of relief or direction, their motivation to invest in your product or service is quenched & drops.
You see we asked our subscribers, who didn’t buy WHY and a large sample of the survey felt they had the solution. But it’s really just 5% of what they needed.
Same case with you, So they do not hire you.
They go off feeling pretty good about what happened. Yet all they got was a Band-Aid. The problem resurfaces soon after, they get upset with YOU. Yup you! Mirror mirror on the wall doesn’t reflect them…it’s your fault in their minds!

Today I watched people goggling a dress trending on social media, looking & seeing different colours at various angles…Wow if only its owner or the Vendors knew how to monetize this viral trend, list building gone viral… See #TheDress on twitter & Facebook. We are all confused as to its true colours. I see gold & white lol. Is your List building strategy allover the place too?
Well, list building is where you take certain actions to collect people’s emails, with the intention of sharing with them specific information at a later date! A mailing list is basically a database of email addresses used by an individual or organization to send an email to multiple recipients at the same time. (Not spam). A list of people who have opted in for more information on a set topic. In this part 1 of the list building series I am gonna take you thru some hard bits maybe tell you a lil story…in order to emphasize the importance of list building to your home business!

Let me Say that again: every single one of such hyped up claims of push-button, autopilot solutions to making money today or in a week etc. without putting in any work is a SCAM!
Fact: push-button, autopilot profit machines without sweat & effort don’t exist…
…with ONE exception.
If you’ve built a responsive mailing list that trust you, you can write an email with an offer affiliate or otherwise in 25 minutes… Broadcast it to that responsive List, be it Hundreds tens of hundreds of thousands of people – all at the click of a mouse, or a push of a button. And Guess what….
Once you hit ‘that send button’ your job is done. You can go watch your son’s soft ball game, go for a swim in the ocean, Go do that Zumba thing, play golf, or simply roll in a Turkish mud bath – whatever rocks your boat! And with your trusting and trusted responsive list – sales WILL start rolling in on autopilot… That’s what List Building is about, its the sole aim of most business owners!

You definitely understand that traffic is the key to making money online…You believe that driving traffic to a website & Lead generation = making money…right? Well wrong my friend if it’s the wrong kind of traffic, it’s a waste of time! Its not WHAT is being sold to You nor the Traffic …Its HOW its Sold that matters! And the Key to traffic is NOT driving traffic…Its OWNING TRAFFIC…HOW? By building your own list!
When we spoke about delayed gratification, we didn’t mean go home pray, and switch the telly on and wait…Nope! You have to do some work upfront without getting paid. You have to have & USE A list building system the correct way. You have to either find one or build one & automate it. Once you got that sucker automated, that’s when delayed gratification starts to pay off! This is what successful people do, this is what we did last year and are continuing to polish and build our list this year!
It’s what Ziz Ziglar always said and its true today. It’s never really about you, you have to understand it’s about them; the subscriber, customer, what do they want? If you can marry up with what they want and give it to them, then you’ll get what you want too!
List Building & The Key to Making Money
The key is simply Reciprocity: Once you have built your list, you start to deliver value to them, whether you create it, or you get an expert to create it. Your subscribers will want to give back a certain percentage. Let’s say you give it to 4000 people, %ge of those are going to want to give back to you too. That’s just the law. By buying into the value you offer with their cash!
You can build your list faster by Offering something of value to other list owners in exchange for plugging your list. This has been done by 6-7 figure earners for years. Ben Settle suggests a strategy to do this. Using his unique style he was able to receive dozens of new (targeted) subscribers by spending just a few hours of his time. Who Else Wants To have a “Perfect Day” in Online Marketing? You will have an extremely productive day If you Follow a “To Do” List!
Well today is a Perfect day for me to share something deeply personal with you yet what has if got to do with Online Marketing? Well…a New year a New week, and its time for us to get Producing…so dig in !
Every single evening I write out a To Do list for the next day. Some people may think I’m highly organized…right! Well let me tell you but keep this Shusssshhh. 🙂 Between you and me, I can get distracted by just about anything, could be sponge bob square pants on cable. My goodness, are you like me, by gosh whatever distracts me does it real good to get me down a rabbit hole, it doesn’t even have to be bright and shiny…!
Yet here is the deal, in order to succeed in online marketing, affiliate marketing, network marketing etc, we must absolutely FOCUS and SINGLE TASK. Yes Multi Tasking will kill your braincells and your business…am not sure where I read that lol…Okay I’m joking, I do know exactly where, but you get the picture! You can’t possibly be going thru your emails and listening to a webinar…You will miss out on the webinar visuals and possibly the important nuggets you might have got to progress your home business! I am not going to delve into How to effectively Use a To Do List, that has been dealt with by other experts but go ahead and check out the article in the link above and Get Structuring your day better. Personally I use Evernote to schedule & sort out my day-to-day items together with IFTTT ( I wrote an article on this) for my weekly To Do List. If you aren’t using these two resources yet, Get going today!
Anyway, I reckon I have a bit of OCD…plus, I love the rush of seeing everything on my To do list checked off and done. I believe and so do multiple 7 figure earners like Mark Accetta, that Laser Focus will absolutely improve your online marketing. Check marks make me happy, they literally make me a perfect day in my online marketing agenda and strategy. Crossing stuff off? Pure Bliss, Ecstatic….am I weird? Maybe but don’t mind me, simply implement & accomplish a strict agenda to GET DONE at Least 3 items DAILY if you are full time and 1 item if part time in your online marketing activities.
So getting back to the story…for a long time now, any day that I got everything marked off my list, I would tell Pauli all about it in the evening, with a huge smile I announced that I’d had “A Perfect Day” in our online marketing projects. (This I would say with all the fanfare of a footballer who’d kicked the ball straight into the goal Or a pitcher who’d thrown a no-hitter or a Cricketer who’d scored a home run… or is that a basketballer!)..you get the gist right!
A To do List can indeed create for you a perfect day online and if you use one thats set for your pace and gets you out of your comfort zone that is pure magic! I “Eat my Frog” first thing every Morning before or when I sit down at my work station in my home office! And I believe nothing can go any worse as I have done the hardest thing first, for my online marketing and day to progress! So of course, when anything throws me off of my game, I kinda tend to lose my mind. Undone items on my list make me just a tad crazy (and not in a good way.)
That is, until I sit down with Paul sometimes just before we get to bed. One day as I am talking to Pauli, he said; You are too hard on yourself, do you know you have a”Perfect day” every day, in online marketing & otherwise? I said why is that? And he says;
– My love you get to have a lie-in when you want to, do you know how many times wish I could just stay in like you do?
– No rush hour traffic for you, boy that motorway traffic sometimes kills,
– You get to be there for us all, our children, friends family & I love that about your work,
– You Get to Treat your family & friends, treasure that my love its priceless,
– You’re there for the parish because you have the Time, you are banking blessings!
– You determine your Pay check, days off, vacations!
– Heck You ARE the BOSS and you really are making money in Online Marketing! Many don’t make a sou, do you see just how blessed we are? So what if you don’t complete a thing or two…!
He then looked me strait in the eye and said! My dear Syl, because of our Home Businesses in Online Marketing, You set your working hours and what you Can Get done. So if you are getting many “unfinished” days, you need to adjust your “To Do List” items so you can Be happier with You! Its a short sprint & then a jog daily for your marathon, run your Own race! Heck You need to celebrate the things you have accomplished. Many people don’t even have half of what we have. Most children have a mom who works all hours, You used to! Would You go back to that…! A lil shame faced i replied, I honestly couldn’t imagine doing that again ever…!
So, he said; Why don’t we have a weekly review, to celebrate your Achievements?
That’s how we came about our “Week in Review” exercise and I cant Recommend it enough. As a home based business owner you must take stock and review your activities every week. You can do that with your partner, upline, mentor, friend…! Go ahead and give yourself a treat for achieving i.e. doing what you set out to do in the week before! And purpose to get what wasn’t done the next week ASAP, you will start to See amazing results! Talking about all the highs and the lows over the past week.
So back on track… Paul said gently…you know you had a perfect Week not only in online marketing but as a mom, friend, wife, leader…. And here is why
“Well, when Gloria stopped by to talk about her new job and to learn how to use aweber (another amazing online marketing & email tool) that was definitely a highlight. Our Trip to Rome, sudden, a dreamtrip, unplanned great fun courtesy of our travel dollars benefits. And that night Arvie and you Skyped for fifty minutes! Since she had her operation that week and couldn’t walk for a while, that was a gift, a total blessing. Oh, and our impromptu dinner at Red Hot! Loved it.”… He went on to ask, … were these on your To Do List And do you think they are important?
Celebrating our daughter and her GCSEs, a friend’s New Job, laughing and loving with a friend who was about to go in for major surgery, and flirting with my husband over strawberries and cream & Pilau Marsala. Not on the list. Not even planned. Precious. Each and every one. Its not all about online marketing is it…
So what’s a girl to do, to have a more structured day in Online Marketing? Throw away the list?
No – the list focuses us to accomplish everything that we have purposed our Day in our online marketing agenda. But my list? It needed some room. Room for when life shows up in an interrupting kinda way. We all should have room. Because if we are truly seeking to enjoy our lives as Marketers, as Home business owners as leaders, as team builders AND dare I say live God’s will, those interruptions to our lists such as the above are oft times Life’s most important tasks for our day. They can only enhance our online marketing experience and lives in general.
Is there such thing as a “Perfect Day” in Online Marketing?
My answer is, You can make it a perfect day every day, if you so choose! My Message for today is, Focus on Manageable Tasks daily, leave room for life to happen and embrace the gifts that drop in between your list. Go attend that softball, soccer, basketball game, that music recital, coffee with a friend, a walk in the park with your child. Go out and have a meal, Attend a concert, Sit and watch a movie every so often. Yes Sacrifices must be made. But we also Must Live our Lives Today.

I can assure you that despite what the word says, Closing is never at the end, You close your prospect at the beginning….Ha many will scoff, but the word “Closing” is a lil misleading here, Why? because you will either have impressed the heck out of your prospect at he beginning or near enough for them to buy from you, or they have been following you for a while & appreciate & resonate with what you offer! So whatever the case, Closing is never at the end its the culmination of your actions/words before that! And this is my very first closing technique or Tip.
Closing techniques #1 It starts at The Beginning. never ever do a hard sell of your Biz Opp on first meet; the cut throat approach has been proven to alienate many people, heck it alienates me! Tell your story, why you are sharing & doing what you do, your experiences or those of others you are working with! Tell them exactly what you’re doing and how it can benefit their lives or business. Be upfront about your intentions, this engenders trust and grows a mutually respectful and rewarding atmosphere that could grow into a great working or personal relationship!
Closing techniques #2 Instead of Responding to their Questions with a Yes/No, Ask them A Qn instead. Here is how. A prospect asks you have you earned yet or How much? Answer your prospect’s query with a question of your own, e.g. ” How much do I have to earn for you to invest? or Do my earnings determine your decision & If I have made a good amount, how soon can you join? If a Prospect wants a Lipstick color in fuchsia and they ask ” does this come in Fuchsia? Instead of answering them Yes/no, ask them “Would you like it in fuchsia?” You see if you carefully chose your questions and apply, these closing techniques they can help lead to a sale.
Closing techniques #3 Free Give Aways or Free Trials. The right Free offer to Your Target Audience can most often lead to sales and grow your business. This approach has been coined the “puppy-dog” close, after the attachment children develop to a puppy after keeping it overnight. It works well for all sorts of businesses and is used frequently in Internet services, magazine subscriptions, training programs, where you can make use of or receive the service, membership for free for e.g. 7, 14 or 30days etc! #4 Don’t Over cook it, Recognize when a potential customer is ready to BUY. Many of us talk ourselves right out of a sale, missing the signs! In this closing technique I show you that I have learned to “SHUT UP” and LISTEN! That’s how you are be able to HEAR what the other person is saying and when you can go in for the SALE! When they make comments like “Good idea”, “Oh really”, “sounds good”. You could tell they’re ready when they ask questions about the product/service or the process: “How much does it cost?” “How long does delivery take?” “What colors does it come in?” or “Can I upgrade?” And would you believe that complaints about previous experiences or vendors or products can oft times be a SIGN they are ready to buy and simply are looking for Your reassurance that You/yours are/is different!
