The big problem with online marketing and coaching as an industry – much like any other industry – is that everyone, their pet pooch and nana are marketing and social media gurus. So, they definitely have a view on what you should be doing and theirs is the best since canned cat food!

“Y’all need to spend 16 hours a day on Pinterest!” By the way didja know we actually get hundreds of re-pins? Now you do ? I digress…

We live in a sad world, where so many are obsessed with follower numbers, the popularity vote, leader board ranking, post likes, and other mumbo jumbo!

Social media and Online gurus teach people to give away their value for FREE, yet they charge an arm and leg for their training. Much like Stella McCartney’s use of the Ankara print in her fashion house! The thing is Social Media platforms picked this up and demand that you give people FREE stuff first in your Advertising.
Yet the Advertising is NEVER FREE, not even as a taster lol! The days of you pay for an advert and its placed before Joe Public with your price in plain sight seems to be frowned upon today!
We have become a highly demanding, yet expensively educated generation, happy for handouts…
Understand that these online platforms actually know exactly WHO your Advert is meant for. They know the people who NEED your product/service because they stalk you lol!
They know your behaviours, interests, values, psychographics and demographics…!
So how do we play by their rules and impact the people who most need our help?
By learning the right marketing for online marketers!
Understand that I am not talking about this one being a Thought leader or Social Influencer…Most Social media personalities are none of the above! They definitely market like a disco ball…watch video below to understand what that means for you!

#1. Do Not Attempt to SELL Before Going to the Market
So many people do this and thus fail miserably. You spend more time SELLING your offers to the WRONG People and of course they never buy.
Start by Marketing: This entails Brand exposure, Promotional work, attraction marketing, teaching others the value you bring, skilling up, zoning in to your niche, and all this smoothly brings you to the people who need your offers and you can CLOSE THE DEAL aka SELL.
If you are a coach, I have read it somewhere that less than 1 in 10,000 people are actually looking for a coach. So, you will probably have a huge challenge if you persist in trying to sell something nobody seems to understand or want…YET!
But what do I do Syl?
How about you Skill up on marketing the value in coaching – The incredibly powerful TRANSFORMATION that coaching brings out in an individual or organisation! If you Market Coaching as definitely – a solution to problems your clients already have, and are already spending money on, you will soon be creating a Life changing income!

- You will demonstrate that you Understand their problems.
- Definitely stand out as a recognized solution provider for them and they will self select for you. (- Expert, Thought Leader)
- Know how your offers deliver specific benefits your clients value.
- Understand how to navigate the marketing landscape and stay ahead of the competition.
- Absolutely know how to reach large numbers of your ideal clients. (Demographics)
From our Experience, Paul and I know that when you zone into a niche slice, you get approx. 10 times more return on investment, than the scattered approach.
