Work Smart, Party Hard: A Day in The Life of A Digital Entrepreneur!
This Episode” A day in the Life of a Digital Entrepreneur” was first published on October 8th 2017.” In the last couple of weeks, I have heard so many new and struggling marketers ask: How does one create success online and whats your day like? And I thought, its time to re-share the journey…Enjoy
I’ve been asked by lots of people; how the heck do you do it all? You seem to accomplish a load daily. Running two blogs, an online business, coaching, public speaking…podcasting, videos…How?
This got me thinking…
In a time when most of our weekdays are spent behind a computer, pre-digital ways of working feel archaic. But there is a renewed interest in say reading real books as opposed to e-books. I am serious, that’s why I believe you will enjoy this mini expose in the life of a digital entrepreneur…
BUT, the thing is, if we don’t preserve some of the good old ways of life, our very heritage will be lost in the digital ether…When was the last time you printed off your holiday photos and actually put them in an album that is not on the cloud? Ever asked yourself what if…The cloud imploded…lol…Food for thought but not the topic for today!
Today I am talking about digital online entrepreneurs.
The people who produce so much online content and mind food – from PDFs to downloadable audios, livestreams, videos, blogs and all that good stuff…Yet with all these the good old gate keepers like Radio, TV, Newspapers and paper books – seem to get lost in the noise of 21st century life.
While UK has a huge national disconnect from nature – 90% population lives in the cities and towns. Around 70 per cent of the global population still live in rural settings. So, it’s vital to remember our old style gate keepers still hanging on for dear life and serving these people! Yet I am squarely in the Digital Life corner and I for one am super grateful that the old gate keepers are chilling out while the new are in:
Which are the new kids on the block?
Well, most people watch YouTube for their video hit, Social media is where all the news is at including; fake news. I am not sure when I last purchased a Newspaper… You? And who listens to radio anymore? I love Podcasts, they are way more fun, more upbeat and educational! Barely any sad or shit news gets reported over in Podcast-land so…I am all in for a digital life!
Spoilers: this post is heavy on the hustle, low on the fluff.
- The Alarm clock
Unexpected as it may sound, I still wake up early though I don’t have to…I am a mom for crying out loud. So, I got a family to see to…or to see to me! Lol
But guess what, I don’t jump out of bed on the dot of 6am. I mean we don’t have chickens and pups that need feeding too early lol!
So, I first Meditate, Visualize, Power Affirmations, Exercise, I become a humanoid, all before Paul turns off his alarm at 7:30am! You need to have a level of subconscious belief that you are successful and will succeed at whatever you do.
Without this power, you are still going to attract crickets or a few struggling pennies! So, DO THE MIND WORK,…Never miss it! In fact create a Vision Board and Work towards it! This is auto suggesting to your subconscious what you want and deserve! When something is habitually put in front of your eyes, you program your subconscious mind with what you want to manifest in your life! Reprogramming your mind…Powerful stuff, Do it. Anyhoo…
I do my grounding aka earthing while exercising. Ever heard of that? You should try it, amazing. Keeps you super healthy I promise! No digital way to do this mate. 😀
Mind you I dont step outside in winter before 8am as I am a child of the light, its still dark and bloody freezing anyway.
You need to have a level of subconscious belief that you are successful
Getting down and dirty
Once my Morning success routine is done, and I am human, it’s breakie time. I walk to my office..all of a flight of stairs about 8:30 am! Yes even though I work at home, I still have to put in some work after all!
I read a book or listen to one! Yes, I prefer a tangible paper book. I am still not yet a Kindle convert, although I am Kindle published lol!
A quick zoom team brainstorm session at 10:00am, then I attend to the most pressing emails from my amazing Hazel. All the while enjoying a healthy smoothie, and my first cup of coffee (hey dont judge), I also check that our amazing subscribers receive something amazing that I have found or know about via our CRM (every entrepreneur should use one.)
During summer time, I actually go out for my grounding and exercise at this point and take my phone with me so I can get some images or draft some content ideas – there’s always plenty to do.
Once breakfast is done, the phone is put on silent and I get with my first set of clients.
11:30am I am coaching LIVE in my private mastermind Mon – Friday. Members range from Network marketers and Direct sales reps, to Business owners and Life coaches. This takes me through to 12 noon.
Time to get ready for a public Facebook Live show if it’s a Monday, Wednesday or Friday. I also Podcast on Your Power Echoes Show on Fridays!
For the public live shows, I do some research via google searches, books I have read, training I have undertaken, personal experiences or our resources for inspiration. Or check out my Transformational e-library of over 800 e-Books. It always delivers, by the way Join me on our facebook page for our weekly shows at 1:30 pm GMT London!
Once the show is done, the video is downloaded, thank you facebook. Its sent off to my amazing VA to edit and add some captions and saved for YouTube, our Podcast, A downloadable, a Free Offer, a future blog post…The list is endless.
You cant run out of content if you do this. Yes, repurpose your content.
For Tuesdays, Thursdays and winter Saturday mornings 11 am-12:30 its full on JAC Coaching Session days, both 1-on-1s and group coaching sessions!
I prefer the 1-2-many i.e. group sessions because I leverage the same info and impact more people in the same 60 minutes!
Thursdays are crazy busy with client coaching calls all day. I also have a product presentation webinar at 4 pm. ? LOVE IT!
I used to actively prospect and reach out to 5-10 new people daily to build our primary business. But now thanks to attraction marketing and our Lead generation system, I get so many people reaching out to me daily, I have more prospects than hours in the day. And that’s such a blessing!
I still schedule to follow up with 5-10 people daily!
Fortunately, we have a great team including 2 Virtual assistants to do for us on the social media marketing front. I have no idea where our business would be without them!
School pick up is usually 3:30 pm…I love this entrepreneur life. I am able to pick up our children and drop them off to their extracurricular activities, anytime, anywhere in a work week!
When we get home, go through homework, make dinner together and chat about their day and aspirations for the next day! We are done by 7:30pm and I briefly get back to the office to prepare for the next day!
I once heard someone say that:
“Entrepreneurs give up working 40 hours to work 80 hours a week…”
This was very much true when we first started and frankly some days, when we have to chat with clients in Asia or Americas. The days can be extra-long, burning the midnight oil is the norm for most entrepreneurs!
Burning the midnight oil is the norm for an #onlineentrepreneur
- Out of Office
So, like I said before, my “day work” ends when I go to pick up my son about 3:15 pm. I get back again around 7.30 pm to 9:30 pm, to serve our Asian and USA clients and audience!
Some may say this is a long day, yet I don’t really think about it like that!
I can do whatever I want to do during the day including shopping, visiting friends, travel, or whatever at any point of my day! It is the norm for me almost 5 years now! So, I am happy to do a bit more in the night. I do my journaling, check off my Can-Do List. Set my resources for the next day’s training and my WILL-Do list for the next day for better productivity.
With a team to guide and two rapidly growing brands, the ‘get on with it’ mentality is strong in the JetSet Academy Coaching and Kalungi group lot. And I LOVE how everything is slotting into place and works for us!
I am still working on that 4-hour week Ala Tim Ferriss…If you have perfected it, drop me your link and sign me up already! 🙂
How about Weekends?
Well, in my world every day is Friday…And I believe in making hay while the sun shines. Literally.
Winter and Spring are our busiest seasons. “It’s when all the entrepreneurs are scouring the net for coaching, training, products investment vehicles etc!” Someone has to serve them, so why not us!
We put together our week plans months ahead, but we break it down and amend on either Saturday 12-ish or Sunday evening. Quite often we plan our social media posts then as well.
On weekends, we do short getaways or over night stays as well. It’s just what it is! The life of a digital entrepreneur is online, so anytime, anywhere with an internet connection is business time.
Once you set up your systems to attract leads daily, and automate your funnel, you too can and will make residual income whether you are sleeping, playing or working!
The life of a digital entrepreneur is online, anywhere with WiFi is Business time.

- So it’s all Sweet Music?
Ha, if it was wouldn’t more people be happy as Larry to join the entrepreneur party! I do meet speed bumps and challenges, a lot, I just dont let them stand in our way or stop us. In fact I win or learn, there is No loosing.
In fact, let me ask you a question; when you find a pot hole or a hump in the road, do you stop and turn back? Do you give up your journey in defeat? I believe you slow down, and get over, round, or through it. Same, when I meet business challenges! Yes I may allow the faucets to open and rile at the universe, but we know the positive, grateful heart that asks the Right questions always succeeds in the long run! So…
I work through them, I ask the Universe, and for me that’s God, for the stairway to the breakthrough from the challenge…If you work for yourself, naturally life throws up some seemingly insurmountable challenges…
- When your products aren’t flying off the shelf and last month’s success seems like a far-off dream!
- Doesn’t it suck when a customer cancels an order or requests for a refund, and seems to have formed a club of followers!
- And your team seems disinterested in building a business like you are. No Passion, no strong why, nada.
- Then they drop off like flies in winter and you cannot stop them.
- When technology gets challenging and doesn’t do what it should…and the wallet is tight!
- OMgee that training course you purchased was poop, it didn’t deliver on its “Sales hype or promise.”
- When your auto ship or subscription is due and you aren’t making a ROI yet and you have to chose between life’s necessities or your business!
- Did I say, self-doubt and fear seem to take the driving seat sometimes? And sadly you cant seem to stop those little nasty voices in your head.
- When social media platforms pull the rug from under your feet and your business staggers to a halt! Hello Facebook jail!
- How about when a seemingly sure fire sign up or sale goes AWOL and wont return your calls. And your last 8 webinars seemed to be made in the middle of the North Pole! Billy-no-Mates seems more popular for sure...
- At that point you are like a farmer in a wet soggy British summer and it doesn’t stop raining for weeks…
These things make digital entrepreneurship challenging. YET, someone once said:
“God throws His biggest challenges at His strongest warriors…”
So maybe consider yourself blessed and keep ya chin up. If you stick with it, keep showing up and doing the daily, seemingly mundane stuff, connect, and communicate with people, Your Breakthrough is waiting for you on the other side of SERVICE to humanity!
It’s the price for success, trust me…TIME! See every cloud has a silver living and
“There is no Rainbow without rain”
So embrace it all and fall in LOVE with your hustle, it surely will love you back and pay off sooner than you think.
So What’s the good stuff?
You mean the beach lifestyle, speaking on global stages, vacationing in amazing destinations…Traveling business class, earning a great income, being home for family and friends when they need you…
Spending the day in T-shirts and Denim or jamas instead of a suit or work gear? 😉
All those are amazing rewards and perks that come to anyone who pays the price, puts in the work, serves others in large numbers!
Success comes to them that are willing and duly pay its price! #LawofAttraction #Successhacks

- Global Impact and Producing a Legacy
Being a Pinterest expert, an Internet Marketing trainer and coache as well as an Author feels amazing.
Having intellectual property to leave for generations to come is what I am talking about!
I think, like with hors doves, people think of internet marketing like a hobby or side gig, I consider it a stable Life changing business.
People forget all of the lives that this industry impacts – not to mention the jobs created, the contractors like our VAs who get to have a job because we keep at it!
The e-books, audios, videos and downloads that can and will be passed down through generations of the Kalungis and other families.
This is the real deal of the life of an online digital entrepreneur.
So, keep on choosing internet marketing and home business entrepreneurship and create wealth for generations to come. That’s what I do daily…Simple.

Hi, Julie. This was such a fun read. I enjoy the way you express yourself with words and yet teach powerful takeaways too.
You work hard but you also play hard which is what life is all about.
Helpers both robotic and human are the way to go. No shame in help.
Keep spreading your love and hope, it is so needed.
Thanks for making my day.
Hey Sara,
I am so glad you love d it and got the value in this life of a digital entrepreneur! It sure is a great way to help newbies know what is what so they dont quit on their dreams!
Thanks for your continues support and time 🙂
Julie
It’s true we do work crazy hours! like 18 instead of 40… but it is worth it.
Lol Angela I thought I read that wrong 🙂
The work I do online… It doesn’t feel like work. I love what I do? More time freedom, and set my own hours.
It never feels like work when we love what we do Carl 🙂
I love working at home – each day is truly different. You can choose your own adventure!
Aaah We love your take on it Krystal 🙂

It sure is Adaleta, I love it, thanks for your time!
What I love about this life is that every day is different! I don’t like routine and mundane every day tasks (anymore, ha, I used to live this way and never think there was any other way to live)… I like fly of the seat of my pants kind of lifestyles!
Woohoo sistas from different mamas GiGi 🙂 I love knowing how good my day is gonna be before its even born! 🙂
This blog is quite really useful for starters! Really interesting to read. Thanks for this.
You are most welcome Mike! 🙂
Thank you for giving me a look into the life of a digital entrepreneur. It must be tough to make your presence felt, with huge competition out there. However, with the right tools and attitude, I know it can be done. Wishing you more success in what you do!
Hi,
You are most welcome. It is actually lots of fun getting your voice heard as you see your brand grow daily in visibility and exposure, which lead to more subscribers and clients! Love it! 🙂
This is an awesome post. And honestly, got some ideas from you. Coz I, myself, couldn’t balance myself most of the time. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Chei, glad you got some idea and value. 🙂
This is such a great post and I agree with all these! Time management is never easy when you are an online entrepreneur!
Time management is KEY in any enterprise…loose sight of time and you are running down rabbit holes! 🙂
What a fun read about the life of a digital entrepreneur. Loved reading about your day and how it goes. Sounds like you have a good time working!
Hey Maureen,
Thaks for your time, Indeed I LOVE what I do and It loves me back…I love my days everyday. Because each is different in its own way!
I don’t think people understand how much actually goes into being an online entrepreneur. Many make it look so easy, but I think like you, they have a good set schedule to work with, which is very important to have to succeed in this digital age.
Hey Theresa,
Indeed a lot goes into building a happy business and I love the process on the whole, and I have learnt to deal with challenges, by focusing on The Good, the Great and outright Beautiful! 🙂
Being an entrepreneur is all about the hustle. It is harder to sometimes put limits on your work day, but I find that you can do it with a little extra effort. The best part is building something you can call your own.
Exactly Cindy, entrepreneurs have to do more to create a legacy and a profitable concern that pays other people’s salaries. We are income creators 🙂
I love the fact that I get to work at home or wherever I want, especially when my husband and I are on vacation. It’s really good to set a schedule, which I do before the week starts because I want to make sure everything is set.
Aaaah vacations, thanks for your time Carol! 🙂
It’s really good to have a schedule that you can easily work with. I think one of the best things about working at home is that you can set your own work schedule especially if you have to be out during the day.
Thats exactly the point AnneMarie and I love what I do on a daily 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
It sounds like you got a handle on this! You have turned this into a science. I think that is what a lot of others struggle with. They have a hard time managing tasks and avoiding those things that are a major time suck. This is a great look at a day in the life!
Totally Kait We have had to make sure we have a routine and get productive. Time blocking is the secret sauce to avoid time sucks!
Thanks for your time! 🙂
You rock, but this gave me a headache! You do more in a week than I can wrap my head around. You still have time for your children and family dinner – Wow. I received a few good points even for my little blog.
Lol Gladys, Business as usual in our corner of the world. And we love it and Yes I have time for family every blessed day with minimal stress 🙂
Moreover, this was an overview, so there is lots more behind the scenes!
This is great! I loved getting a glimpse into your day. It’s important for people to understand that digital work is just that…WORK. I think people really underestimate the time that goes into working in the digital marketplace.
Hi Tonya,
Any activity that produces Income is Well WORK and we Digital entrepreneurs have to make a living 🙂 Glad you loved it and thanks for stopping by!
This is an awesome post. Thanks for sharing your daily routine, and for also sharing your challenges.
I love the way your blog post is laid out btw.
PS: How can I get a very affordable VA?
Regards
Hey Adewale,
Glad you got value and I know you work super Smart too. We have to raise the standard for our Industry. Too much hype going round!
We went for a Genesis theme and its superb! Lets chat about your VA needs! 🙂
This post is so awesome! I think it’s key for people to see just how much hustle goes into the day of those who do this kind of work for a full-time living. Those of us who work for ourselves are often the toughest bosses we’ll ever have. But you have to be to get where you want to go. LOVE it!
You said it best Stacie. Home Business entrepreneurs are simply a class apart. Despite the rap the industry gets, its our job to raise a standard and the bar and show that its not all music and champagne. There is WORK involved 🙂
[ Smiles ] You are the Diva of digital entrepreneurs.
Do keep up the good work!
Thank you Renard and I intend to! 🙂
Great post Julie, I like the way you’ve showed how being an online Entrepreneur really is. It’s not all money pouring out of laptops or sitting on the beach creating money… the REAL Digital life is very hard (at first)… thanks for sharing more quality content…
It sure is not all cake and beaches, although I know it is proverbially what you are doing right now bro…Way to go! And glad you agree! 🙂
