Did you watch the video and learn the shocking truth about increasing Pinterest Traffic to your offers?
Well let’s dive into some more juicy details!
Hold your Bootstraps: I assume you created your online assets, including a Pinterest Profile, Facebook Page, Twitter accounts? It could be your book published say on Amazon, Barnes & Noble etc.
Definitely you have a website if you intend to build a lasting brand. Yes, yes?
The last one is so you have somewhere to drive traffic to, so people can learn more about you for free. ? Okay, now you have to take a few things into consideration. Doing this will help you build a tribe. Trust me your tribe is waiting for its chief on Pinterest check it out below! I mean…
Before I go into the meat and spuds, does the image below get you excited? Man, it did for me big time! With over 200 monthly users, Pinterest website traffic is not something to frown upon! (data from Pinterest) See the breakdown below and drool some…
My 7 Ninja Steps to Increase Pinterest Traffic &
Attract More Sales.
1. Know your Specialty, Interests and Niche.
So, when you designed your online assets, including: Pinterest profile, Blog, Facebook Page, Twitter etc. Did you select the theme/ subject/ area of interest?
See, most people choose some random 5 topics to set your Pinterest profiles up and forget to go update them to laser target who gets to follow and find you in that space. This is very important, as from this everything follows esp. followers, traffic, leads and the sales you desire.
Get this right and you will determine the type and number of people who come into your experience. Your audience, the quantity of posts, your very writing style etc.
By the way the best is a conversational story telling type. And if you can’t tell a story that gets others to stop in their tracks and pay attention, I understand. I had the same problem until I came across a resource that helps you to write stories that sell.
That said, you want to read Ryan Biddulph blogs. The man has a way with words. He recently guest posted for us on 6 Blogging Lessons I Learned from Exotic Dangerous Animals I Battled. You’ll know exactly what I mean…
2. Do You know Jack?
Jack or maybe Julie is your buyer waiting to be served by you, in large numbers…!
And guess what, they also like what you like and are interested in your niche and/or topics! And, it’s time to connect with them. Plus, all those other pinners and their people interested in the same stuff as you!
In other words, your audience or target market.
You want to find the perfect audience for your niche. You want to take the time and zone in to determine who they are.
- Are they male, female or both?
- How old are they?
- Do they have interests/hobbies? Which ones?
- What kind of work and income category do they fall into!
- Social class, etc.
These are your followers, fans and buyers and I have just the tool to help you zone in using the resource right here or banner below.
3. Where and Which?
Okay we briefly talked about your online presence. BUT, where or which platform will you be driving the pinterest traffic to? It could be a social media platform like your Facebook page. It could be your Amazon profile or book.
Or it can be a website where you have full control of what goes on there!
In this post, I presume you have the website or blog?
in that case, for your blog content, I definitely use and recommend WordPress.
This is where you will be driving your traffic, right? Otherwise you are driving it to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or your company replicated site, that does very little for your brand!
On your blog, you have some cool content, information about you, how to contact you. You of course have some juicy pre-landers, landing or capture pages to collect your hungry audience’s details and marinate them some more, if they aren’t yet cooked!
Otherwise why send traffic and not build that dang list and personal ATM?
I call that a wasted effort! See one of mine below that leads to my book The Art of Pinterest Profits.

4. Let’s Optimize Shall we!
Before uploading or saving any pin image from your blog or other online assets, optimize it and the content for 100% Pinterest SEO. By the way read that article and you will learn my secret sauce to Ranking some of my best pieces in search via Pinterest…
Dang more traffic! ? (Re-inventing the wheel is so overrated.)
I also shared some more SEO sweet juice in the video above. With this step, you will see an improvement in your traffic, esp. if you do monitor your actions, progress and improvement week by week.
Personally, I use a tool called Tailwind to track my efforts and results on Pinterest.
And for some more juice o Growing your pinterest, you might like to check out the Social Media Examiner’s 26 Tips to Improve your Pinterest marketing.
5. Posting & Pinning Frequency
Okay, I know I already said this, let me re-iterate! There is no fixed time to Pin for profit! It’s down to your time zone and what works for your Inbound Marketing.
For instance, I post once a week on each of our blogs and promote said 2 posts all week.
I schedule my pins to run daily. A minimum of 10 pins per day, scheduled from my Blog Board to other boards esp. Group Boards!
I automate our efforts via two resources, one already mentioned above i.e. Tailwind. The other is called PinPinterest, try them both and you will never run out of traffic or leads!
I go into details on automation and how to use the resources in my online course; The Ultimate Pinterest Roadmap.
This is a great starting point for anyone looking to leverage Pinterest for better traffic, optins and sales. It doesn’t matter what the focus of your interest is, you’ll find it on Pinterest!
Posting more often daily and weekly, increases your chances of getting more targeted and scalable traffic, leads and sales. This sure is the equivalent of active prospecting in a Passive way!
- For “rending or hot” news, post twice a day.
- If you have a service-based brand, its assumed you don’t change or update your service daily. You could post and pin 3 times a week.
- You have product-based content like: giveaways, special offers, launching a new product? Try posting once per day to your various Pin boards esp. group boards.
And I got you a secret weapon: my cross-pinning strategy, you should be attracting a ton of traffic to your sites and offers. Whether you celebrity status followers or not.
Did I say already to stop fussing about followers on Pinterest? Good, glad you got that!
You don’t need to post daily, but you want to PIN Daily. Use the recommended tools above.
6. Get Organised fast to Increase Pinterest Traffic.
I mean you use an Editorial or content Calendar for your content creation and promotion!
This is totally essential if you struggle with focus and consistency.
I used to have a major focus problem as a newbie work at home mama! My day used to end with; “What the crocuses did I do today…?
Now I know what I am doing 8 weeks from today!
You too can keep track of what you post, when. Learn about an editorial calendar and download yours too.
Seriously, at the very least, plan your content at least 4 weeks ahead.
- First, you’ll free your time to enjoy with your new born or fur baby.
- And you’ll have fresh content on tap when you need to post it. Amazing or what!
You totally can outsource the visuals like banners, blog and pin images, even the content creation. I totally love oDesk, Freelancer or Fiverr for outsourcing stuff.
You can get your resource links researched and sorted. Reach out to Influencers and do your pre-post promo. Great for extra traffic and growing your network too.
7. Get Social, get actively engaging to Increase Pinterest Traffic!
Like any other online platform, to increase Pinterest traffic is both about quality and quantity. I am talking frequency of posting. This is where schedulers come into their own…BUT, be sure not to get scammed by charlatans. Use only Pinterest approved tools – I definitely don’t want you sent to Coventry or joining the block-party!
Neither should you spend hours pinning, pretty as the kitten or dog images may be! I was doing manual labour until I gave myself permission to outsource, delegate and use tools. Plus, apps and online resources to get shit done. Phew, hello punta cana!
Here is the frequency I post on social media and you too could try…
Pinterest. Pin your posts and other branded content to between 10 – 40 pins a Day. Pin here is the breakdown: Pin 15-25 pins from our blogs.
Then I pin other relevant content I think our audience may love. I go for 15-20 pins. This alerts the owners of my interest and in turn they could return the favour. I know others may say to pin more of other people’s content.
My aim is to get you attracting traffic to your assets. So be a little self-loving here! Get your Pins closer to the top of the Pinterest smart feed fast! Which can take up to 6 weeks. But guess what….
Your Pin will outlast any other social media post by miles! It’s believed that, Your Pin has a life span of years.
Let’s focus on time frames; 3 months down the road, a Pin could go viral and never stop. By then your post on all other social platforms is long gone to Death Valley! Here is why:
Your Twit. 27 – 30 mins. If no one likes or retweets, it’s gone in less time. So how about linking your cornerstone tweet in Pinterest and retweet it via IFTTT! The alternative is to twit your blog content 10+ times a day. Use Hootsuite to get that done…Yes you are welcome!
Facebook. I post 2 – 3 times a day, my Fan page posts are linked to twitter and Pinterest via IFTTT! To be honest if one post doesn’t attract attention the rest of your FB posts for the day after that one, are dead in the water…Unless they are real funny, celebratory, Breaking news!
Your Facebook newsfeed posts start to lose traction 30 mins after you post. If nobody engages with it, it expires in 3 hours. Yet you want to make sure your content is seen by as many eyeballs as possible! So, aim to post in the morning, afternoon and evening! Focus on quality! One of my main daily posts is a Live Video where I engage with thousands of my followers and friends, as seen above!
Google+. The only reason we still share on this platform is; the more you G+ the more Google gets pings of your content keywords which goes back to your online assets esp. blog. We post to 3-4 G+ Groups 5-10 times a week, and every G+ is automatically pinned to a board on Pinterest via IFTTT. Learn how you can use IFTTT for your social media cross promoting!
How to Increase Pinterest Traffic to your Offers – It’s a Wrap!
Truth be told, there is no hard and fast rule on how fast that traffic will flow to you unless you follow a strategy, have patience and are consistent. Keep serving what your audience needs, wants or desires!
Remember that an engaged audience is a satisfied audience, one that loves and helps promote your brand! Keep them empowered, educated and entertained and they learn to Trust you and they become loyal to your brand. That’s your ultimate goal, right?

Glad you got value Sonali, thanks for stopping by!
You tell me this all the time but as I have said a billion times too – I just don’t know how to really TAP INTO the Pinterest Magic!
Over the years pinterest has changed a lot and the ways of getting traffic as well. a few people have started to remove rich pins and they say they have been getting more traffic that way as people are forced to click through to the page. I personally found success with smaller niche, topic specific boards which are not that common in Pinterest but interesting enough for people to check out and click through. 🙂
Woot woot, Remove Rich pins??? Now that’s news to us for sure Helene. We will look into it and definitely share our findings, it would take a few weeks even months of tracking! We will try it on a smaller e-commerce site we run. Although I now understand what you may be saying here.
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Julie
