In 2015 when I entered the Pinterest world with our Network marketing business it was not clear to me how to do it in a way that would attract vs repel traffic, leads and team members for our business…
I did lots of research on Pinterest Success stories and what they did. This helped me to understand the culture of building on Pinterest. And to be honest Social Media, plus what I needed to change to have a greater impact.
It also led me to Write a book: The Art of Pinterest Profits
You may wonder WHY Pinterest? And I answered that question exhaustively in this resource.
Now that you see why pinterest could be the missing link in your traffic and sales journey….
Here are some things to consider on…
How to win on Pinterest that I hope can help you:
1️⃣ The intended purpose of Pinterest has always been to CONNECT people to curated content via Images. In that space they want your content to reach more people and get your content ranking in search…In fact with the multitude of changes clearly…That mission and purpose has not changed.
2️⃣ A SHIFT is happening though on Pinterest because of the abuse of the platform.
- Spammy Pins,
- Auto following and unfollowing using bots
- Excessive Use of Group Boards that are untargeted…goes back to spamming.
- Pins that are repetitive i.e. same image pinned numerous times by same pinner. Or same details in description, these will be penalized. They can even shut down your account.
Making it even more challenging for you to build unless you make a SHIFT too, and focus on Serving your audience! ?
It is why it’s very important to…
Start focusing on the user experience more esp. for the pins you get the most traffic for.
In most cases I would believe that people who transit from Pinterest to your site, do so more relaxed searching. They are usually chilled out and focused on finding something specific. They are willing to look until they find it.
Thus, the finicky bounce nature if they dont.
But when they find their target, they have time to click on a pin and read. They aren’t in such a hurry as you might think.
Quite similar to someone doing a Google search, BUT The difference is a Pinner will look deeper. Most google searches dont go beyond Page 1 of google. We want fast answers from there.
So, I suggest your Pin Image and Description are a great opportunity to “hook these people.” Do make sure your posts have good links to your social media. Never Pin without adding a Call to Action of some sort. See image below for an idea.
You are just really trying to capitalize on Pinterest traffic, make it stick!
3️⃣ BE A HUMAN, BE A FRIEND. Pin content linked to posts the way you would be sharing with a friend in person…
4️⃣ BE SOCIAL in everything you post on Pinterest or any SOCIAL MEDIA platform, even if this one prefers to be a search engine.
? I learned about a principle called SOCIAL SELLING. It is indeed the very essence of Pinterest and is possible to sell more if done the right way. This is the one MAJOR Advantage of Pinterest and why we love it too.
For you who do the following, get on pinterest like already:
- You can do Flash sales
- Bogof sales – (Buy One Get One Free)
- Pin Images of your products and services are not shunned. ?

✅ Make more meaningful connections via comments and private chats, usually better on FB than Pinterest
✅ Cultivate more conversations from your content via a CTA in the description. You do want people to click thought, right?
Well, if you’re like me, you want visitors to stay around and view a few posts on your website. You want them to socially share those posts and ABOVE ALL to Subscribe and BUY.
As you can see, I use inline related posts in our articles to display similar posts, or what we want to recommend. We have also made it super easy to easy to pin posts, including asking people to “PIN THIS POST” and of course inviting readers to subscribe.
You could link to your Subscription Box, Clickbank or Amazon affiliate products, Books.
Find your Top 5-10 Most Popular Pins and Optimize them. Make sure the linked content has; more Related content, Recommendations, Your Offers, Invitations to subscribe… You want more sales right? Get it done.
HOW? Via your Analytics, especially if you use Tailwind.Find your Top 5-10 Most Popular Pins and Optimize them.
? P.S Avoid copying and pasting pin descriptions. It’s not organic and Pinterest wants your content to be unique since you will be pinning your content more than once. So, use different descriptions, and hashtags. Thesaurus is a great tool for this, or a Word Spinner. Check for free ones online. Pinterest can tell the difference. ?
New on Pinterest: Pinterest Communities
And in other news…don’t know why its news thought lol.
Pinterest rolled out a new feature called “”. Apparently to make Pinterest more sociable esp. as it also decided to focus more on followers. So you can get social on pinterest too… Not just curate content and search for your next fashion item.
Join our Two Communities below then you will automatically get the Communities Icon on your Pinterest. Open the Link on Your Pinterest Mobile App. Join Community and then You can Create your own Community
Once you create your own community, invite others by sending them the link again via Mobile app! For now anyway, until Pinterest Fixes the Bug and Glitch. Use your Phone app as opposed to a PC. You may get the 502 error via PC.

Understand that of recent, Pinterest has been under delivering on Group Board pins. In preference to Personal Boards. So, if you are pinning your content to Group boards, you will have noticed a drop in Traffic.
Pin Your content to Your Own Boards, Kapische?
From what I have heard, Communities work like Tailwind Tribes-ish. They are a way for people in similar niches to collaborate, ask questions, get feedback and potentially share pins/content.
Why not group boards? Don’t ask me hun…They are phasing them out is the word on the ground… ☹ I sure hope not, how about you?
To be honest I haven’t found out yet at time of publishing to how these Communities are meant to benefit our business or yours!
The only way to create a community and access that feature, is to be invited to an existing community. Then you get a “Heart Shaped Icon” on the left side of your profile image and you too can create your own community then. Invite collaborators.
It is very glitchy at the moment. In fact, invite me to your community if you have created one successfully.
