So, I did a poll last week in my Free Facebook Community and I asked what were members struggling with the most. And the top 2 answers were:
1. Getting targeted customers and traffic,
2. attracting traffic to your offers.
In this episode, I focus on attracting and Getting targeted customers on or offline. With a simple formula that is shared in the video below.
See, attracting targeted customers is a process that requires you to have a system, resources that you’ve put together to help you get exactly that.
You’ll agree that every single successful business/brand you see online and offline uses a marketing formula and a process to attract their customers.
They have strategies and systems in place to attract target customers.
So, if you don’t have a marketing formula or strategy, you are setting yourself up to struggle.
Imagine you were building a house, even in the old days, when they built huts, they literally had a rough drawing of the size.
They knew the space they were going to use and what was going to be inside that hut. The living space needed for people to live in.
In other words, you have to have a plan, even if it’s a rough plan on how you are intending to attract the people you are you’re seeking.

How to Find Your Target Customers – Video Transcript and Summary
If you are a healthcare provider, you’re going to be targeting people with health challenges or people with loved ones with health challenges. Or you’re going to target institutions and organizations that attract those people. That way, you are a collaboration partner, a joint venture partner, that’s how it works.
So, if you are struggling in your business because you are missing targeted clients, it’s because you’re missing this 3-step formula. And it’s a very simple step I teach it everywhere I go. And every single time people are like what you say to me was unique.
Not new but the way you presented it gave me a clear idea of what I need to do. So there are three simple steps.
Step #1 – Build an audience
Now you’re gonna say but I don’t have targeted traffic. How do I build an audience?
Everyone with traffic had to build an audience. That means that to build the focal point, that campfire where people come to, so you’ve got to build that audience. Every successful influencer built an audience. Whether it’s Adidas Coca Cola, Golddigger, etc. Names like Givenchy, Burberry, Kalungi Group, you name it we build an audience.
Step #2 is to build a relationship and engage with your audience. Unless you’re selling life essentials like food, clothing, etc, people won’t come to you until you prove to them that you are worthy of their money.
And even if you sell those essentials, most weeks I drive seven miles away to shop.
To a supermarket that sells the kind of foods, stuff, and products that I relate to and I love. See, I drive past six supermarkets along the way. I drive past huge Asda Walmart, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Aldi, Lidl, six of them. This African Arabic, Afro-centric Afro Caribbean supermarket seven miles away serves my needs.
So even when you sell essentials, are you selling what people want, and therefore are they willing to come to you?
People will come to you if you engage with them.
Step #3 – Convert/Serve them. That’s why l call it a BSC
- Build
- Serve – engage
- Convert – sell
It’s a BSC in social media management. Social media marketing that you’re gonna get from me today.
Let me just very quickly go through the building because when you do the three things, you’re going to create a daily marketing action plan. Which is going to be your daily mode of operation, that will focus on money-making activities. If you don’t focus on those you don’t make money.
Number two, you’re going to also start to dig a foundation for your marketing success online because now you know what you need to do and so you start to do the activities you need to do in order to get the results.
Number three, you are going to start doing what we call attraction marketing.
Every successful business that you know practices attraction marketing. I just gave you an example: I drive seven miles away to buy from a shop.
I’ve been attracted by the products, by the customer service I get from that shop seven miles away. So, whether it’s online or offline, you’ve got to do these 3 things in order to attract the targeted clients. Attraction marketing is where it is at. So why do people struggle to build a business today and not attract the right people?
I’ll tell you what’s going on with you why you’re struggling to attract targeted people.
There is an information overload. People are bombarded with freebies. Everyone is bombarded with free training, free downloads, free videos, free audios, free coaching, free mentorship. Free this free that, free webinars and it’s easy to get overwhelmed because of the overwhelming amount of information. You don’t know where to start, instead, you decide to just leave it.
And I encourage you not to leave it, I really encourage you to please, please, please don’t just walk away, do something with the information you receive, whether it’s free or paid for, like an athlete walking into the sports field, or the boxing ring, or wherever it is, or a tennis court, they’re not gonna go there unprepared.
You’re going to train. Every successful person finds that person who’s going to show them the way. I highly encourage you to not be that disoriented, confused athlete who gets onto the field and doesn’t know what to do. Like are you gonna run backward and everyone’s running forwards? No.
So be the person who knows that to create success, you need to invest in learning the process of marketing.
And you could start a blog, that blog will do nothing for you.
You could have a website built for you, but those two things will do nothing for you unless you learn how to market them.
How to market your website, how to market your blog, to create content that attracts people. A website that people are willing to spend five minutes 10 minutes 30 minutes of their day going through your content.
You could do Facebook Lives at this point in time, I’m doing this live right here in the social creatives hub. Video is the quickest way to get people to relate to you. Right here I here I am doing video for you, sharing with you what you need to do to attract targeted traffic to your offers. And you know, I’m real you know, I don’t put on cakes or makeup so when you meet me on the street, you will recognise me because I am real.
I don’t hide my real name. Neither do I put on airs to make you feel like you have to super made up by a specialist in order to show up on live video. Because this is like big brother.
I mean, it’s meant to be organic, generic and basically something that people relate to and are able to do. So, you can do Facebook Lives, too.
Let the world know about what it is you’re offering, how you can serve them. Share some tips just somehow to let people know you are what you are saying you are.
And you can guide them from where you are to where they need to be. You are the bridge, and on the bridge so you know the way how to get on the bridge from A to B. They will come to you if you show up more and more.
I don’t care whether I have 1 million people on Facebook Live. I know that sooner or later there will be 100, 200, 300-500-1000 2000 people watching that video at some point. Getting the message I’m sharing and reaching out to me. Reaching out to me. Did you get that?
Just like I go to that supermarket seven miles away. People come to me from Japan, America, East Africa, the UK, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Zimbabwe, Brazil, Kenya, you name it. Asking about how I can solve their Traffic problem. Because I show up.
Are you showing up? If you’re not showing up and you really really cannot stand your face, you cannot stand your voice you Oh, you’re so shy. It’s painful. You could run Facebook ads, or run Pinterest ads. I actually prefer Pinterest ads to Facebook ads.
I promise you because Pinterest ads are so much easier and you get so much more for your dollar than you will get on Facebook ads. And so, you run some social media ads to get your brand exposed to more people.
If I had a new website, I would absolutely run a Pinterest ad today, I would set up my Pinterest, make sure I turn it into a business hub. And I would run a Pinterest campaign for three to four weeks driving traffic to my website. First of all, it would also boost my Pinterest profile. It will boost traffic to my website and God knows it’s what you need today.
And I do all those things for our clients. I teach you how to do Pinterest ads, I can craft the campaign with you and for you on running Pinterest ads. So, you can always run them for yourself. In other words, I teach you how to fish. I can give you a fish. I can teach you how to fish or I can do it all for you.
Do the preparation and serve you, you know the menu. All you have to do is make sure you get the leads, you connect with them, the people that I generate for you and you tell them what you do because you know your business best.
You could run email newsletters, but you have to generate the emails right? So that takes you to Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, there is even Tick Tock these days. Snapchat, you name it. So many platforms that you can actually attract targeted clients and customers.
So, to build your audience. It’s simple, every single day, just three activities to grow your business, build, engage, sell.
It’s a BSc in social media and digital marketing. Build that audience, serve that audience with value, value, value, more value. Benefits after benefits, and convert that audience into the kind of people you want. Who wants to be served by you, who tell everybody about you. People who recommended us to you who become your referral partners will become your team members. You name it, that’s what you’re looking to do.
So, building your audience is the key. Without it, the other two don’t work.
You can’t serve who you don’t know or are connected to.
So you have to build an audience. It’s the key it is the foundation an audience can be a Facebook group. It can be people who come, who follow whatever you post on your page. It can be your YouTube subscribers. It can be your LinkedIn, Twitter followers, Instagram followers, many chat followers, your email subscribers.
I have all these, I have all these it’s called a distribution channel.
I have built a distribution channel in order to build an audience that points to one thing my mothership, which is the Kalungi Group. And many of you don’t have a mothership so point your audience to your Facebook, to your company’s page if you’re in network marketing or MLM. Point them to your sign up page and they never sign up.
Why do you think? Because you did not serve them, you did not build that relationship, you did not engage with them. You did not show them the value and the resource that you are and until you do that people don’t buy from you. Thus, it’s very important you have these platforms. I highly recommend that you choose just one, too.
Now I chose three because predominantly I’m a Digital Marketer and coach. If you choose to be in all these places, you have to have help.
Now I have a YouTube channel because I started way back in 2014. I didn’t know any better so I just started. I have an Instagram account because I opened it when Instagram was hot and everybody was on Instagram, just posting for the sake of posting. I started Pinterest for purposes of you know attracting people to my MLM. See, see all these things. You start for different reasons until you learn better.
I joined Facebook to connect with my family and friends all over the place. And for almost two years I played only games with it. But when I learned how to leverage these and to show other people what I know that type of thing. I knew to come confidently on these platforms with the knowledge I already had, as a legal practitioner, as a housing manager.
As a liaison officer, I brought all those things to play, you know, that you create the products I have created today for my clients. It’s very important that you focus your actions on building one solid audience every single day until you are up to 10 leads per day from that platform.
When I say 10 leads, I’m talking about 10 people that you are in a conversation with about what you offer every single day.
And you feel that you have mastered that particular platform on strategy. And now you’re ready to add another one to your plate. The reason I’m giving you this is I’ve already given you the mistakes I made.
I started on all these different platforms with no clear plan. And then when I started using them as marketing platforms, I had already built a random audience that was not particularly focused On what I was offering. Just the other day I was coaching and I challenged every single member of my master club to actually cleanse your social media.
Release everybody who’s just a social friend on your social media platform if you’re a marketer and start out fresh. And if you want to know the strategy, you would have to be part of my master club to know what it is you would do in order to build up from that level.
So, when you get to generate leads every day, it means that people are connecting with you inside of your messenger. You have their number and you can call them on top or they’re given you their email and you can communicate with them whenever. That is a lead.
Some people will tell you that whoever comments on your content is a lead. No they’re not.
Some people are just friends who just like love to support you, who’re just inspired by you. As in when you say inspired you know what I’m talking about, right?
Because some people send you messages in your inbox, like Julie you inspire me but they don’t really take action on the things you tell them to do in order to actually build success faster.
Like I’ve said, No successful athlete, successful business, or professional ever told themselves, they just don’t exist.
They have a teacher, a coach, and a mentor, every successful human being had somebody teaching them how to do things. So, don’t be that person who’s like: you inspire me, Julie, you inspire me Syl, but you actually don’t invest in you to learn what you need to learn to sell what you need to sell.
If your audience isn’t growing, your business isn’t growing.
For instance, here on Facebook, if you started the year with 123, Facebook friends, and today you have 121 Facebook, friends, your business is going backward. Even if you still have 123 Facebook friends, none of those are buying, your business is going backward.
In other words, your business grows with your audience.
In other words, your business grows with your audience.
If you can put a hand on your heart and say every day I get at least 30 new Facebook friends. And I connect with at least 15 of those and we start a conversation every day. At least five to 10 of those accepted to take a look at my business. It is literally just to take a look at your business. You’re not telling them to give up their home life. No. You’re asking them to take a look at something that could potentially change their lives. So the first action in your business success is to build your audience. And I’m going to tell you that building your audience is pretty easy. I teach my members of the Winning Entrepreneurs Nation, how to do that every blessing day. It is a process it does not happen overnight.
And if you focused, you are totally committed to doing what you need to do, before you know it in the next 60 to 90 days, you start to see the fruits of your labour. because you are committed.
So that’s what I’m talking about today, building your audience. I have given you an idea of what to do, where to be, what things you can do, consistency is the mother of success. They’re bedfellows. If you don’t show up consistently, don’t expect people to actually buy from you, if you’re flaky. Like today you’re talking about Hey, tomorrow talking about shoes, other issues, about drama The other day, yo yo yo you’re talking about your ex the other day, You’re quarreling with your neighbour…
Your people don’t know what to do with you. You need to be focused and choose a social media or choose two social media platforms. Which you’re going to focus on business.
Everything you post on those platforms is about business. Everything you talk about on those platforms is business-related. When you do that, you’re going to start to notice that all those that don’t really care about your business will fall off.
And probably many of you are in that place where when you talk business, you get two likes, right? When you talk, social, whatever, you get 400 likes, you’re going to have to release those 400 people because they are literally telling you from your posts that we don’t care about your business.
We just want the drama and the whatever. Anything that does not ask us to commit to anything. You’re then going to add friends that are committed to your vision, that are also walking the same walk as you. This is the best advice you will receive today.
