Innovative Methods to Get Your Content Re-Purposed!
If you are a website owner, a blogger or internet marker, you understand the importance of unique content for promotion and better ranking.
Yet do you ever find that you are totally blank as to what to write? There is no special event going on, the trends don’t lend to your industry and you are frustrated… Literally you are facing writers block…
Well my friend we got you covered.
One of the best ways we have found to generate such content without spending hours researching is to re-purpose our existing posts…Yes, recycle them for various purposes.
In today’s episode, we break it down for you how we free up valuable time by re-purposing our content. In doing this we also free up resources for other tasks designed to grow our business. You can do the same…
There are a number of methods to re-purpose your articles to give your Internet marketing and blog a boost.
If you read our post on Free Traffic Sources, you will love this article.
In this article we discus three very effective ways that we have achieved the above results that you too can apply to your older content.
3 Power Tips to Get Your Content Re-Purposed
1.Combine two or more of your blog posts
Check that they are in the same category to create a special report you can share as a lead magnet online.
Free reports are a proven way to get targeted traffic to your site.
Of course, you may need to have a CRM or a resource that allows you to create simple capture pages. We use Aweber and Leadpages for these tasks respectively.
This is also a great idea to thank subscribers for signing up for your list, so how about you give it to them completely FREE without strings.
No matter how you give the report away it providers a perception of authority, value to your site and the information you provide.
You won’t even have to spend a lot of time making it work, just put them together in a series of chapters. This is perhaps the easiest method to get more out of your blog posts.
Now to take it to a whole other level this is what we do…and we recommend you do too.
Be sure to “up-serve your subscribers” with an offer to go further with you in the FREE report. Call it your Call To Action (CTA) You could:
- Invite them for a 30-minute call with a specific benefit for that call and share a link they can book that call on.
- Offer them an e-course you have or a product that goes into deeper detail on the subject that costs at least $9 – $49
Before the above strategy, we used to blog like daily circa 2014 and got not a single subscriber or sale from our blog. Simply because we were NOT SERVING Our audience. Small as it was then…
Don’t be like us. Don’t be afraid to ASK for the SALE…Otherwise why are you spending time creating content?
2. Make sure to publish your articles on your site!
Okay this may sound controversial, but when you combine 2 or more posts esp. if they were short posts. Change up the text, add “your story”, sprinkle the article with more useful resources and add some Imagery or charts…Well guess what, you just created a whole new post. Yes!
Do you have any idea of the volume of traffic you can get to your site just through your articles?
Your site will be indexed faster. This is white hat SEO at its best.
Refreshed your content so it comes out of Search engine archives.
You will have Refreshed your content so it comes out of Search engine archives. If you did it right your new article will rank higher in the search engines when they find fresh content on it because that is exactly what they want.
I know others say submit your content to directories. While it’s also a highly effective approach, at the same time you also want to improve your own site.
Therefore, by doing this regularly, you will be able to turn it into an authority site which the search engines adore.
See how one of our Refreshed blog posts is doing in search below.
3. Submit your articles for distribution in print publications
Make sure they are publications that your target market reads.
Very few bloggers, or online content marketers are taking advantage of this trick for re-purposing your content and articles.
Once your article is accepted, you will start to attract a whole new line of traffic to your site. This is a kind of marketing through “offline” methods.
Here is how we do it.
Step #1. Find a nice list of print magazines or publications in your niche and send your articles in to be “reprinted” in them. This means some elbow grease, good old google search!
Step #2. Create a series of emails, almost like a sequence in a CRM.
We suggest at least 7-10 emails which you will set to go out daily for the first five, then every other day to mail #10.
In fact, if your CRM allows it, (Aweber does) upload that list and create an email campaign. Because trust me this is a campaign…
Now remember if in Europe GDPR laws may have your hands tied, we have a solution for you in Step #3 below.
Snail mail and horse mail still work your end of the woods, right?
Step #3. Send your list emails as shown above. Understand that the majority will end up in the tray of an uninspired admin who will simply bin them.
So, the to be proactive, find out the in charge i.e. Editor-in-Chief of each magazine… Go ahead and send them your emails in letter form…Yes you heard.
Snail mail and horse mail still work your end of the woods, right? ?
In the meantime, get your copywriting hat on and…
Re-write your blog posts or articles so that they appear fresh, unique and more appealing to the magazine.
Be sure to write in a story like style…this is a magazine, you want people to read your post and come through to your website, right?
