Pinterest Account Management – First Steps
#1. The first thing is you need to have a potential client Inquiry form. This can be free standing like a Landing page – Leadpage or part of your website. To create even simpler forms I highly recommend MailerLite try it out FREE until you hit 1000 subscribers.
This form is filled out by a lead/potential client who wishes to collaborate and work with you to grow their Pinterest account.
It can be as brief as you want, BUT one of the essential questions MUST Be; what is your marketing budget. (See example below). It can be as detailed or brief as you want it.
If you don’t have a website yourself, You can have one created for you for as low as from £275 by K-Web Social Designs.
Once you receive a filled form, you have a keen person/business and your job is to call them and find out:
- Scope of work – what you’ll need to do when working with them
- The number of Pin Images per week
- What’s their Niche
- And what are their needs and goals for Pinterest?
Then you decide if you want to work with them, and that takes us to the next step.
You decide what type of clients you wish to work with, You are the CEO of your company too.
#2. You must then contact the client on the email provided and give them more details about your services. This may include:
- Your rates – we offer monthly packages as opposed to hourly rates.
- What they should expect from you based on their Goals and what We DO NOT do.
- Graphics and Proof of Purchase or ownership.
- Website details and Any content already posted.
- Brand colors and Logo
- How soon we can start a project… and
- Also, ask any questions that you need answers to that haven’t been answered in your form or Discovery chat.
The reason we ask the above is, we always PRESUME THE DEAL DONE. And also plant the seed that we are their preferred Social Media Management and Digital Marketing Agency.
If the client doesn’t have content like blog posts/News, Articles on their website, ask them what do they want to promote? DO they have products, services, a platform, and so on?
So basically, do your best to gather as much information early on, in order to start working on their account. Also, it shows how professional you are.
#3. ALWAYS, always have a contract. I know some people say this isn’t necessary, but you are running a business and must protect your interests and also your clients too.
So, a contract shows what your T&Cs are and what you AGREE to do for the client.
It is extremely important in case of conflict. I.e. they misunderstand or try to get away with more or accuse you of under-delivering.
Business Success – Pinterest Account Management for Start-Ups
The work you will do really depends on your client’s needs.
- Some may only want a Pinterest account set up.
- They may want Increased Brand reach.
- Is Traffic their end goal?
- Maybe they want more sales?
Let’s assume, for purposes of this Episode that a client just wants a month of their Pinterest account management. Which we have available on our website for a super discounted price.
But here is another thing: if you fill check out our website you will notice we have an offer of 25 Posts Created for you, a steal at £199 That means you save over £300 on the usual monthly plan.
So until Dec 24, 2020, you get that offer as help for all the challenges we have all had to face this year.
For that, we will be creating branded Pinterest graphics for you. And You get to simply schedule them or pIn them when you are ready.
Otherwise, we have full DONE FOR YOU Packages, where we are Managing your accounts for three full months, which is what you need to start, seeing real results from Pinterest.
#4. After the client commits to a package, we get to work. We start by Optimizing their Pinterest account and if it’s personal, we turn it into a Business account. Sometimes we set one up from scratch.
If one is not created already – We create a business account, add a profile picture – Add an optimized profile description. We optimize those for SEO and we also start creating branded boards.
We also optimize Boards for SEO; i.e. we have a board title, description, category all aligned and congruent with the client’s end goal and Commercial Keywords.
We create a Branded board cover and add up to 10 New Pins with content before we publish the board as Public.
We enable rich pins and claim their website. We add their email and any other info, including linking other digital accounts like Facebook, Instagram, Etsy, YouTube
All this means their profile is interlinked ready for cross-promotions and to stay organized while setting up their account.
#5. With an optimized account that is populated with some content, now we start applying to join some relevant complementary niche group boards (Max of 5).
I notice some marketers join any old group boards, many of which are link drop zones. i.e. no one is really re-pining anyone else’s’ content or engaging. Be more intentional about which energy you bring to your own digital space. Don’t confuse it with stagnant energy.
I talk about this in my Signature book The Art of Pinterest Profits.
I notice some marketers join any old group boards, many of which are link drop zones.
At this point, we also start creating a mood board for the client business. If they don’t have one already.
We also AB test various branded pin graphics that are included in their package. You can decide this too if you offer hourly rates. I DONT Recommend the hourly rate payment option. But usually, it is 10 hours per month!
So if you agree to do 10 hours for 30 days at $20/hour. Your monthly fee would be $200. This includes Creating Images, Captions, Headlines, Descriptions, Boards, board covers, And Posting the content. Consider if that covers your financial needs if you only have 2 -3 clients/mo…
Okay now, this is…
VERY ESSENTIAL: Do your SEO research, this is for keywords for future content and pin images that you’ll post for the next three months.
With managing various Pinterest accounts, this may require a Scheduler. And most are subscriptions. Ensure you let your client know about this as an EXTRA Cost to them. It’s not part of your fee.
For instance, offering Pinterest account management services for us requires a tailwind subscription by the client.
This allows you to Schedule Pins in advance, find related content to pin to related client boards, and join niche and complimentary services and find niche tailwind tribes.
If you just want to try tailwind right now, you can click this link and get $ 15 off for when you want to upgrade to a paid plan.
So in tailwind, I will create a relevant words list for you to be able to schedule pins faster in the future, and you’ll always have those boards lists there. I used to be able to schedule 1000 pins per month in tailwind…
Today I can say pin only 2 Pin images tops per piece of content or product/service per day. Space out the days you next repin, with a different image.
In fact, learn what NOT To do on Pinterest 2021.
If you do the tailwind for your clients, you will also join new niche tribes for them and pin into them.
Add pins into tailwind tribes every single day via the scheduler as well. Very convenient.
If you do all the above and are consistent with your pinning schedule for the client, you will show amazing changes in their Traffic and desired agreed results.
I would suggest you focus on increased Website Traffic for your clients. Or YouTube Views, or Podcast Downloads. In other words, increase brand reach and exposure. Your monthly statistics/insights will show that as well. And so you won’t be over promising and underdelivering.
If you run Paid Ads though, you can comfortably promise an Increase in product/service sales, Affiliate sales, eCommerce store sales, including an increase in Amazon Selling.
Pinterest can help increase page views, people reading your blog, wanting your services and so much more.
So in other words; your client could see more audience, growth in their sales and income.
It does take around 3 months to start seeing results from Pinterest.
