How to Keep Ahead of Your Competition During the Summer Slowdown Stretch – 7 Proven Tips.
Pool Shenanigans, BBQ, lazy beach days, rolling in the park, shopping till late, long lazy days…Its the Summer slowdown …Or is it?
Yes there is a Phantom belief that its the worst time for internet marketers. Maybe it is for some. To be honest we also believed it for a while…But trust me to never accept anything that doesn’t sound upbeat and positive!
So to begin with “Slowdown” sounds all wrong in business terms, its Family time, its fun time, its time to create some wonderful stuff, its a season of nurturing…can we agree on this?
Okay now to digging more about how this so called “internet marketing summer slowdown came about!”
In summer time our children are home and it does get harder to work on our blog and internet marketing business too…Is this Summer Slowdown affecting your output and business Income?
[bctt tweet=”Is this Summer Slowdown affecting your output and business Income? #entrepreneurship #hustlemode” username=”Juleskalpauli”]
Have you faced the internet marketing summer time slowdown yet? Well its very much possible not to even notice the days’ fly by…Allow me to explain!
Yes, I’m very much aware that some parts of this planet don’t really have summer or winter seasons its either Sunny or Rain season…yet in the western world Summer is a much dreamt about loved season…BUT for the Online Entrepreneur it can be a slow drag, if you are not prepared!
[bctt tweet=”The Internet marketing industry very much depends on word of mouth #successtips #mlmsecrets” username=”Juleskalpauli”]
The Internet marketing industry very much depends on word of mouth and for most there is a definite “summer slowdown.” Whether you live in the west or not.
WHY?
We have come to understand it’s because summertime has longer days, better warmer weather and thus conducive for travel, holidays. Its one big massive vacation, road tripping, bbq season et al.
It’s time to let the hair down, have some serious fun with the kids, and enjoy the long lazy days. And guess what, it’s also a huge distraction for many as they ease off & take some time out. Proverbially taking the eye off the ball!
In USA, schools out for summer and this year’s High school/college graduations have been and gone! We have witnessed Andy Murray and the Serena Sisters Win Wimbledon. Father’s day is a long gone memory. We now have the 2016 Olympic games to look forward to! It’s well and truly summertime…although you wouldn’t think so looking at the British weather right now!
So while the slowdown may affect the average marketer, it doesn’t have to be the case for you the smart Savvy entrepreneur reading this blog post this year and hereafter!
[bctt tweet=”Push hard through the Summertime Stretch, your success awaits in winter #successtips #summerslowdown” username=”Juleskalpauli”]
Here is what you gotta do:
Push hard through the Summertime Stretch. Create some killer content, critically look at your sales funnel and either tweak it to hit your target sales & beyond come Autumn. Or Seek professional help to do that during the summer and set up some killer ads to pull some opt-ins and go for the sale way before we hit winter!
The thing is, what you do during these supposedly slow weeks will show up BIG TIME in your affiliate commissions immediately after and beyond!
I speak from experience. When we first started in the network marketing and home business space, in 2012, I worked like a woman driven through the next months, December, Spring and hit summer 2013 without letting up. Paul and I put our heads down, ploughed right through the summertime stretch. I was a weekly webinar machine, I did presentations, held Skype calls, drove all over Merseyside like there was no tomorrow, helping team mate present the opportunity and following up. My phone rang off the hook! We built a large team local & International team of over 500 business builders, half of whom were our directs! For first timers, it was super exciting!
We truly worked our butts off. The results were that in that summer, we got a check for over $20k plus a residual monthly income of over $1500 for over 6 months! We started hearing the word #internetmarketingleaders bandied about with our names attached! It felt fantastic!
Now I am not sharing this to show off…because remember in the post I shared about Home Business success, I made an admission that we dismally failed to duplicate the success above in a new business we joined later that year! You can read all about that here!
So how do you Smash it during the summer slowdown time? 3 of the Tips are shared in Video Below!

#1. During summertime, find the time and Project/plan forward; AND HERE IS a Strategy for you:
Promote any and all “upcoming promos, giveaways, events etc.”
This is the time to engage your team and down-line, keep them round the camp fire and let them know things may not go as fast as they would like in this season! “Keep them inspired.”
Get them to events. Plan and Start holding team contests leading into the summer season with great bonuses for the producers who grow the team or make the most sales! I ‘am definitely not encouraging hand holding here!

#2. Why not Get creative and sort that Course out or Start writing that book? I mean you are a leader right? You’ve learnt, tried and succeeded with some unique ways to grow your business. Why not create a short Video course plus Downloadable PDFs and launch it in Autumn/Winter!
Shhhsss just letting you in on a big secret: I am writing a Book…coming out in the Autumn! Isn’t that super exciting 😉
Seriously I have watched super producers do exactly this. So by Christmas they have raked in a cool 5-6-figure income and go off to sunnier, warmer climes, when everyone else is cooped up by the fire to keep warm Brrrrrr!
[bctt tweet=”Summer slowdown is Product Creation and Development time baby! #contentstrategy #mlmsecrets” username=”Juleskalpauli”]

Since most of your customers have taken time out, why not you. Set aside time to do something relaxing, fun, just for you. Have a Spa weekend or Day, go get your hair and nails done. Go fishing, or playing tennis or whatever the heck you like to do.
Never forget to regroup. Topping up your energy and mojo is essential for your personal and Business Growth!
Of course DO Enjoy your summertime, it’s the reason you work so hard right? To enjoy time with loved ones. You looked forward to it long enough anyway!

There is a summer slump, but I think all types of endeavors have their slow times. You just have to prepare and push through. Find ways to enjoy the slower work pace.
Indeed we gotta find ways to prosper whatever the season. I always like to give the analogy of a Farmer, He doesnt expect harvest all year, There is a time and season for everything. Being prepared for the harvest is key 🙂
~JUlieS

Excellent post-Julie and I concur that many slow down during the summer months. I am lucky my kid is grown and other than the time I choose to spend with my granddaughter nothing changes for me. You made some great suggestions for people who do have distractions.

You’ve come up with some really great ideas for getting through the summer slump. I think if you plan accordingly, you can enjoy some time off and still be productive.
Exactly Cindy.
Some people either let up totally and get back in September totally confused as to wha to do. Or keep driving, never stopping to smell the flowers and sun!
